I immediately reported it to the front desk, but the response was disappointing. The staff said there was nothing they could do and that no manager was on site to handle the situation. I asked what would happen if there was a real emergency that staff couldn’t manage, and the response was simply, “We’d call the manager.” Apparently, a room full of ants doesn’t qualify as a priority. We waited for a call back that never came. I called again later and was told the same thing — no manager available, no follow-up. It’s now been over a month (since August 31st), and I have still not received a call, apology, or any attempt to rectify or accommodate the situation. As someone who has stayed at Hilton brand hotels for years, I’ve always been impressed with their professionalism and responsiveness. Unfortunately, this location was the exception. The front desk staff were young and untrained to handle anything beyond basic check-ins. If that’s the case, then management should ensure a qualified manager is available or on call for such issues. Ants crawling around the room is unacceptable for any guest, and the complete lack of follow-up or accountability from management made it even worse. I truly hope Hilton corporate addresses this, because this experience was well below the standard I’ve come to expect.
