Very lovely hotel. Small lobby and bar area, but very spacious rooms with beautiful mid-century modern furnishings and accessories. Location is great for access to Willis Tower and the south Loop area, but generally remote from the busier areas of the Loop and MagMile. One block from the Quincy L stop and many nearby bus stops help it feel a bit less “isolated.” But because it’s not near all the action, it’s a very quiet property. Overall, a wonderful hotel we’d certainly return to.

One of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a hotel. We ended up with a room by the service elevator because they ran out of rooms and the elevator which ran all night and was so loud it physically vibrates the whole room every 45 seconds all night and day long. The customer service was terrible for several of the front desk staff and even when they had space to move us we were told to check back later in the day and that happened twice until the final time when they said they didn’t have any rooms left. After we finally got our room switched on the third day of our stay the manager stepped in and investigated and responded to us on our last night, to offer us to switch and a dining credit to use that night after we already had dinner. A series of meaningless and empty offerings and after we left the property the responses became so spare as they haven’t followed up in 2 months to setup the “reimbursement” after offering a 2 night stay to make up for the crappy stay.

FYI: Booked through Amex Hotel Collection. The hotel honored both my Hilton Gold status benefits as well as the $100 Amex benefit.
Overall, the Canopy was awesome. Great location, comfortable amenities, excellent decor, and a really thoughtful design. Our room was right outside of a water filtration station and wasn’t too far from the elevator despite being at the end of the hall. The downstairs restaurant (Depot) served up outstanding breakfast and dinner options, especially for such a small space. The only bummer was no room service options, meaning you had to take your food to-go and then bring it back to your room.
The customer service team was great too. Our thermostat was locked at 70 degrees, but when I asked for it to be colder, the engineers happily lowered the temperature for us.
Would stay here again.

Hotel was booked on Booking.com first thing first. We had no idea there was no such thing as valet parking. ? - Like what year is this? I'm here for two nights and not sure if I can survive tonight. Room is very small, no amenities, and dining area is weird. I usually stay at the Lowe's Hotel when in town, but im here on business and it's right around the corner of this hotel. Had I known this Hotel would be such an inconvenience, I would've booked Loews and Uber my way. The bed sits like 5 inches off the floor. The television sits on an art easel, the work desk is flimsy and the some electrical sockets are out of service. First and last time I would ever stay in this sardine can! Yikes!
