My family and I had a lovely stay at Arlo in downtown Chicago. The hotel was well designed, cozy, and modern. Its central location made it perfect for walking everywhere. The room was comfortable, even though the bed was just okay (totally a preference thing). The showers had excellent water pressure, which my family really appreciated. We had drinks downstairs by the lobby and enjoyed their delicious cocktails as we caught up with friends. Our server was very pleasant and friendly. That brings me to my final point: how amazing the staff were to my family and me. We were helped by so many team members with so much positive energy that I can’t even begin to list them all, so excuse the fact that I can’t remember everyone’s name. But rest assured, their help and hospitality were greatly appreciated. Holden was one of our first contacts, and he was fantastic. He helped us check in and out and gave us plenty of reasons why Giordano’s was better than Lou Malnati’s. Obviously, everyone needs to do a side-by-side comparison to decide for themselves (which I did that same day). Holden had a coworker who was also great in helping us find the closest train station to the airport, and she was spot on so thank you for that. My main man Antoine was one of my favorite interactions at Arlo, hands down. Extremely helpful and such a pleasure to talk with. He had no trouble remembering names and provided great advice on things to do around Chicago. Antoine was very funny, and I found myself getting caught up just chatting with him. Thank you for being so hospitable. Arlo, what a great time and stay.

I have been fortunate enough to travel and stay in wonderful hotels around the world, but the greeting and service I received at the Arlo Chicago tops the chart. Brittney welcomed us to the Arlo and Chicago as if she were welcoming family members returning from a long trip. She was happy, professional and made us feel special. She got us into our room quickly, got us sorted out with breakfast and dinner at the restaurant in house and pointed us in the right direction to enjoy this magical city. Five stars just for her. The room was spotless and the rest of the staff awesome. I will never stay anywhere else. If only other hotels would take note of the service at the Arlo. Thank you for making our vacation feel extra special.

Very disappointing experience. The mattress was extremely uncomfortable (far too soft) and both my husband and I had terrible nights of sleep and back pain because of it. Pillows are also cheap quality. The rooms are small, which is fine for a city trip, but one of the days housekeeping did not come at all, despite me requesting it twice. The housing manager did follow up with my complaint, but still, for a very expensive 4-star hotel, the overall value for money was very poor.

Great location but would not stay here again. The main issues were with the room and housekeeping. - Upon arrival it was clear our bathroom wasn’t fully cleaned. Hair from the previous guest was on the bathroom floor. One of the towels had a brown crust on it. The sink had water marks everywhere. The body wash container in the shower was empty. - We had to ask 5 times in one day for the body wash to be filled. - Backside rooms face an alley with dumpsters and the train - you hear the trash being emptied in the mornings and the train coming by every couple of minutes. - The shower door design requires you to step fully into the shower to turn on the water, so you have to stand beneath the cold water stream as it turns on. Otherwise water gets all over the bathroom floor. - The bottom sheet had a blood stain in the middle. - The reading light by the bed was burned out. - Housekeeping did not come by either day, even though we were told they come daily. We had to ask the front desk to send housekeeping to our room each evening after we returned to an unmade room.
