Breakfast was supposed to be included, but it was not. Bed was comfy. Heat was insufficient. Kept kicking on and off all night. Thin walls -had to listen to someone singing until 2 am. Vending machines on first and third floors didn’t work. Staff did not care about much. Did offer points, but that didn’t resolve the issue of what we paid for and didn’t receive. Disappointed in th Hilton brand

Avoid this hotel if you need shuttle service to the airport. My flight was cancelled, looked on app for a hotel with an airport shuttle, I booked quick because a few hundred people also needed a hotel. It says it has a shuttle but it only runs every 2 hours and by request. I called to figure out the shuttle situation and discovered that I would have to travel by foot and take a train to a different terminal to get picked up AND wait 2 hours at the airport for the shuttle because it was otherwise engaged. It's a 15 minute drive with no traffic. I was also led to believe I could get a shuttle for my early flight, but when I finally made it to the hotel I discover the shuttle won't leave until after my flight is supposed to leave. Don't out shuttle on your list of amenities if it doesn't run like a real airport shuttle and if it isn't dedicated to getting people to the airport when they need to get there. This is not how I expect a Hilton or DoubleTree property to operate. Also I did not receive a cookie upon checking in. Very disappointing. The rooms are ok. It's clearly an old style DoubleTree. The false advertising and unhelpful service is infuriating. Also I can hear whatever someone is watching in the other room on their phone as if they were sitting in my room WALLS ARE THIN. I need to wake up at 4 am tomorrow and I can hear.

Omg let me start by saying I was excited for the buffet it’s one of the main reasons I picked it. I was there from December 25 to January 1. There was no buffet at all 4 option same options every day. Staff was good in the restaurant and in the front desk. However my key for two days straight did not work . We got switched room I was happy until my toilet it took three flushes each time to flush and that was after they fixed it . My shower was also a bath lucky they fixed it. When I requested to have things fixed staff told me they can’t see how so many things are a problem I said I just wanted it fixed. The first night our door didn’t work I got two free drinks for the problem the next day they moved us because we couldn’t enter. The pool was heated it was great the gym was great for me. I was so upset by these things I almost cried I came to see family for a week and I was so uncomfortable the beds are too small for two people. I come every year to see my family and never had a problem yet this year it was miserable experience with this hotel.

Posting on behalf of my husband who stayed late December 2025. We have traveled extensively for business and leisure, and while it is expected for there to be some variation in quality and service within the properties of a hotel brand, the experience that the Doubletree Arlington Heights near O’Hare airport provided was not aligned with our expectations for the Hilton brand. Although the rooms were merely adequate, the shuttle service was the most disappointing issue with the stay. My husband selected this hotel after verifying through the website that the shuttle was running during the times he would be traveling to and from the airport. When he called the hotel on his way to the airport regarding shuttle pick up, he was told that he could only call for a pick up when he had arrived at the airport. He called again after his arrival to request shuttle pick up and was told that it would be two hours before the shuttle would be there to get him. Obviously, this is an unacceptable service time for a shuttle, and he had to get an Uber to bring him to the hotel. Upon check-in, he was also told that the shuttle didn’t start running until an hour after the time listed on the website. Because of this error he was also unable to use the shuttle to get back to the airport in the morning and had to pay for another Uber. Unfortunately, the included shuttle service wound up being completely useless and cost him two Uber rides to the O’Hare airport, adding unnecessary expense when another hotel could have been selected had the advertised information been correct. Based on the general quality of the hotel, he would suggest suggesting elsewhere. For anyone interested in the hotel primarily due to the airport location and shuttle availability, do not stay here. Reading other reviews, it seems that Hilton may want to consider some quality control or removal of their partnership with this property.

It's a decent enough hotel, but I cannot stress enough how terrible the service was. I was awoken at 7 a.m. by a phone call from the front desk that I (obviously) didn't answer. So in response, they sent someone to my room who knocked on my door, and then proceeded to TRY TO ENTER, by unlocking the locked door. Luckily I had the top latch locked so they couldn't get in, but as a solo female traveller I found this experience VERY frightening. At that point, there was no way I was going back to sleep, so I decided to get ready for my day. 30 minutes later, they came back to my door. I opened it (with the top latch still locked) and said "can I help you with something?" and this man simply asked "we're just wondering when you're planning on leaving", to which I replied "I don't know". Their check-out time is 12pm, so it's absolutely ridiculous of them to torment me at 7 in the morning wondering when I am leaving. 2 star rating is solely because the shower is one of the best showers I've ever had in a hotel. Awful, awful service, especially for solo female travellers!
