It’s a nice, clean, upscale hotel, not an ultra-luxury resort. I have stayed at many Homewood suites, and this one is very nice. The building is being renovated, but my room was new and in great condition.
- CCChrisDec 28, 20252.0This is the worst Hilton I have stayed at in 20 plus years of staying at Hiltons. The only reason I am giving it two stars is location and the front desk agent did help me quickly resolve an issue in the room. The main problem was the cleanliness of the room and staff not being friendly like I expect at a Hilton property. Our room had a used kleenex and ear Q tip under the pullout in the couch and a dried eye contact in the bathroom. We were also missing sheets for the pullout. The front desk agent was helpful and sent two housekeeping people right away. The lady in charge was rude and told me that I was wrong and that we do have sheets in the closet by the bathroom. I pulled the pillows down and the plastic shell that they go in and showed her that there were no sheets in there. I have eyes. She was also very rude to the person she was training. At least it seemed like she was training the person. No people skills at all. When we checked out in the morning, the person at the front desk was rude and did not look at us when we handed the keys back, ask how our stay was, or say thank you for staying here. We would not recommend staying here and will not stay here again when traveling through Des Moines.

The gentleman was great at the training. The bed was pretty firm, but overall pretty comfortable. The room was very nice & clean. I would definitely stay at this location again when passing through. #BOOMER
