The restaurant/bar area was really cute, and the complimentary breakfast was so good! All of the staff was so friendly and helpful, and the location made it easy to get anywhere in town. We will definitely stay here again!!

- LMLonnie McDonaldSep 7, 20254.0Revel Hotel ( Hilton) Des Moines Urbandale Iowa on Hickman I was in town for a funeral. The interstate exits close to the location are under construction. The facility appears to be refurbished in the last 5-6 years. The lobby and bar area are separated by a wall in one large area. There is a set of nice restrooms to the east of the check-in desk. The decor is warm and welcoming and includes walls that act as artwork. It is clean and appropriately lit. The bar area is very nice and it appears they serve food too. Enjoyed the leather and hair on hide chairs in the main area. This facility also sports a pool table in bar section Rooms are nice with updated adjustable shower heads and motorized drapes for opening and closing. The exterior was clean and well lit. I walked the property in the evening and during the day and it felt very safe. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Things to do: the Living History Farm starts in the entry of the complex the hotel is in. Okay, this location easily could have gotten five stars but here is why it didn’t : 1. Failure supply a feather free room - I called the morning of the reservation to make sure the room was feather free. The lady who answered the phone assured me she would pass it on to housekeeping. When I checked the pillows they were feather. ADA failure. In my case a night on a feather pillow equates to a trip to the hospital. As it is I’m still having reactions from touching the pillows. Whether the failure was the person answering the phone or the housekeeper one never knows. It is good that the Mgt quickly corrected it. 2. Motorized curtains not working 3. Generally when there is a serious concern ( ADA) failure or something more serious mgt offers points or something to offset the issues- nothing was offered.
