Great location but your basically paying for access to the lagoon and getting a cheap hotel experience. Service is bad shuttle hardly works and is so slow you would rather walk a half mile with luggage. Terrible bird sounds keeping you up all night and the door locks are crap. I got locked out of my room and had to sit outside and wait for someone to let me in 4 times in a week. Definitely would not recommend.

Please be aware! This place has a cockroach infestation problem. The place is very nice! But after seeing cockroaches on the kitchen counter our family did no longer enjoyed it. Room 6024. Our relatives joined us on this trip and booked a different room. Room 5044. They were asked to stayed out of their room while they fumigated. I do not recommend this place because of it. But if you like cockroaches this place is OK. Thanks.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4/5 — Hilton Grand Vacations Ocean Tower We stayed at the Ocean Tower and overall had a beautiful and relaxing experience, but there were a few things worth noting. The biggest drawback for us was the amount of walking. The Ocean Tower is VERY far from the main entrance, so any time we needed transportation, we had a long walk ahead of us. The tram was an option, but it moved extremely slowly and we often had to wait a long time for it. They also advertise boats to help move guests around the property, but those were not operating during our stay. That said, the resort itself is absolutely stunning. We saw tons of sea life in the saltwater lagoon, and we booked a cabana for the day which made swimming and relaxing so easy and peaceful. We ate twice at the Lagoon Restaurant — the food was decent, nothing extraordinary, but convenient and fairly priced, especially since it saved us from having to Uber off the property. There are better local restaurants in the area, but convenience won for us. The views and landscaping were truly breathtaking. We loved the hammocks by the Buddha on the beach — one of our favorite spots to unwind. Overall, this resort is perfect for families or anyone who wants tons of things to do without leaving the property. We personally ventured out for excursions around the Big Island and definitely recommend others do the same — the nature and scenery of the island are too beautiful to miss.

We had a bit of a rough start that resulted in having part of our stay comped. Truly would have rated this 1 star if it weren’t for the manager Andie providing amazing service recovery/customer service, making up for the prior bad staff experience. We had 3 rooms in the span of 1.5 days due to cleanliness. All 3 rooms were not renovated, which is fine but I do expect them to still be clean. It was hit or miss with front desk staff/management responding to the problem. We didn’t eat much on the resort since it was pretty overpriced and honestly could find better meals for a better price off the resort. We went to the Four Seasons Italian restaurant for my Birthday and it was price comparable to the Italian place on the hilton resort.. With better service/food/views at the Four Seasons than the one on property. Snorkeling in the lagoon was the highlight for us and the pools were also large and not too crowded, but we were there in the off season. Like others said your hilton status is not acknowledged here, so don’t expect any of the perks. We would not stay again or recommend unless it was at the Palace tower or Makai on the Waikoloa property. (Sea turtle pic is from one of the bridges on the lagoon)

Stayed in the newly renovated part of the ocean tower. The room was very nice. Had a bidet, modern appliances and a modern look. Negatives were the ac didn’t go lower than 68* and the bed sucked. Slept terribly. The resort is part of a larger complex that has just about everything you need. The ocean tower is away from everything else so you will be on a 10-15 tram ride every time or a long hot walk. Probably the worst part was the long distance to walk if you needed to get off premises or go to the larger pool. Staff was friendly. There is a lack of food options in my opinion especially for a light lunch. Lagoon grill is probably your only option. My Italian was fantastic but a bit pricey but that is everything on the resort. You can walk 30 minutes to the queens shops and get things for much cheaper. I recommend the lagoon with snorkeling and paddle boarding. Definite highlights. I would come back here. As an owner it’s a nice facility but expect to be sold to many times while you are here.
