This experience was disappointing to say the least and I almost always try to highlight at least some positives. But outside of a clean lobby not sure there are any. The staff is incredible slow and uncaring. Lethargic might be a better description. The room was littered with stained floors and furniture that in some cases wouldn't be acceptable in homeless shelters. Breakfast was completely bare bones by 9, a hour before they stop serving. Unless you personally ask for something they have no interest in refilling or replacing items, including utensils and napkins as well. I would avoid this place if you can. Certainly unexpected from a Hilton Brand.

ROACHES!!!!! THEY HAVE ROACHES. The day I checked in the room seemed ok. The next morning when I woke up, roach crawling on the pillow next to me, definitely not the cuddle buddy i wanted to have!!! Then went to use the bathroom there were 3-4 in there i killed. Walked out killed 3-4 more in the kitchen around the sink, on the floor beside cabinets and fridge. I packed my stuff quick and checked out. When checking out desk clerk realky didnt know what to say except she was sorry and thank you for being a Diamond member. Ugh. I wont be coming back to this location.

When we arrived, it was late around 11pm, and the door was locked. We rang the bell and the girl that was working the desk that evening instructed us to pick up the phone. From there we were asked a number of questions before she would unlock the door and let us in. It was very unusual and we just felt that it was rude that she would not let us in once we told her we were there and would like to book a room for the night. Instead she continued asking questions from the phone that she had to enter into the computer. Once she finally let us in, she was sweating profusely, and it was freezing cold in the lobby. Then, we asked her what was the reason for keeping us locked out for so long before letting us in. She then said to us and I quote, “have you ever been to statesboro before?” We answered,”yes, our son goes to school here”. She then stated, “it is not very safe around here, there are shootings on or near campus every night.” Then we asked her if the pool was still open this late because there was a huge crowd of people who seemed to be partying by the pool that were extremely loud. She told us that normally it is closed at this time of night, however, that the group that was out there had been staying there for the past couple of months and tonight was their last night so they were letting them stay out there beyond the normal hours to party since it was the last night of their stay. She then said to us, if they get too rowdy and loud to let her know and she would tell them to quiet down. We told her, well they are being extremely rowdy and loud. She did Nothing about it. If we had been customers who didn’t know anything about statesboro we probably would have told her that we would no longer be staying and got back in our car and drove to another town. Just a very unsettling feeling and awkward conversation, not very warm and welcoming, as it should have been. Our room was very spacious and appeared relatively clean. The bathroom was nice and walk-in shower was nice, however, the tile floors are a major hazard. If you have any water that gets on the tile, you will bust your butt! Beds are not very comfortable. We will not be staying here again. Next time we will find a different hotel for our stay!
