High end resort hotel situated in the hills of Georgia. We stayed at the Lodge in a king room that was clean and had a resort view.Bathroom was spacious with glass door showers.Golf course had beautiful views all around but the greens were awful.Full of divots that I find hard to believe were from just that day.Was disappointed to play on a beautiful course to end up on greens that were substandard for the price we paid.Hopefully they fix this issue as it is a beautiful and challenging course.

Has potential but for $1000 for one night and one meal, small things matter. Generally understaffed in Auld Alliance where servers were doing their absolute best but needed more support. And the parking situation is a disaster. First and last impressions matter. No option to self-park, which is OK. But cars are kept up a hill and far away off-site. Valet desk understaffed and must take a golf cart up the hill to retrieve each car. On departure, took 45 minutes to retrieve car. Unacceptable. Staff up and fix your parking and this place could be extra special.

My wife and I recently went to this resort for a Monday & Tuesday night stay for our Anniversary. The first thing you need to understand is that what you're paying for at this place is the view The accommodations are fine, but lacking in several areas (detailed below). But the bluff views from the top of Lookout Mountain are jaw-dropping. Let me start with the good. Service was impeccable. Everyone was friendly and good at their jobs. The food was very good. We ate at The Craeg the first night. That is a five minute golf-cart ride up from the hotel. We had intended to eat at Auld Alliance (in the hotel) the second night, but someone had rented the entire restaurant out for an event. That put pressure on the other restaurants and forced many people to eat very early or late. Leaving the property is not really an option as the closest decent restaurant is 45 minutes away in Chattanooga. We ate at Croft, and it was good. Service was steady if a little slow (but they were packed). Meals without alcohol usually ran around $75/person. The wine list was "fine" and the pricing was a little higher than 2X retail (probably closer to 3x wholesale). We brought some special bottles, and corkage was $35/bottle. We were disappointed that Skyside - the clifftop bar adjacent to the pool, is only open Friday - Sunday. This was unfortunate because the hotel was full. They do have complimentary house wines and beers from 5-7 every afternoon. We were old the second night it was a two-drink max/person, bu tI didn't see much evidence of that being enforced. My first complaint, which is a minor one, is that the rooms are surprisingly small. We stayed in a room designated as "King Bed, Superior Mountain View with Balcony." It is the highest room category not designated as a suite. The bed was comfortable. The views were, in fact, superior. But the room was small. There were two small chairs, a desk under the television, and two small chairs on the balcony which was about 5 feet wide. No sofa or large chair in the room at all. I woke up at 7:00 our first morning there and hopped in the shower, and the water would not get hot enough for me - probably because a bunch of people were taking showers. I took a shower later, and it was plenty hot. The hotel, which is enormous, does NOT have ice on every floor which I thought was odd. The free Wi-Fi logged on my system at around 78 Mbps. Even though we were there two nights, housekeeping never came to our rooms (and we made sure there WASN'T a do-not-disturb tag on the door). I mentioned this as we were checking out, and they refunded one day of our resort fee ($45). The clientele during our trip was mostly "golf bros" on golf trips, and the restaurants had a rowdy vibe because of that. I played the Keep while I was there, and it was wonderful, but not for everyone. Caddies only (no carts) before 1:00 p.m. The course is fun and fair, but very challenging. I did not play Highlands. Golf isn't cheap. Green fees were $305. Caddie fee was $110 with a suggested $60 minimum tip. So $475 total. The Keep is brand new, and they don't have a clubhouse or bar. And the final thing everyone should understand is this is going to be an expensive trip, and they hit you up with tons of charges. There's the aforementioned resort fee ($45/day). There's a $43/night valet fee. And then with all of the room taxes - ours were roughly $75/night. And then there's a curious "destination fee" of ($5/night). So were at roughly $170/night before they charge you for your room or any food. Our room averaged $457.60/night, so if we didn't have a bite to eat or a drop to drink, the two nights would've cost us right at $1400.

Stayed here for the first time with our german shepard. We had a terrace room which was awesome for a dog. We walked right out of our slider onto the pet area. There is a nice little hiking trail on the back of the property. Service was really great. We ate at every restaurant on the property and they were pretty good. The short rib hash at breakfast was a good choice. The burger was also pretty good at Croft. The steakhouse had some downsides, but over all we had a good meal. Beans on toast was very tasty. As well at the rumbledethumps. The filet was cooked perfectly. Really enjoyed that. The menu was just limited. I think there were maybe 8 entree choices. But what we did have we very well done. We did go off grounds for an adventure at Lula Lake Land Trust which I also highly recommend to any hikers out there. It was really close to a lot of great hikes actually. We really enjoyed our stay and plan on making it a yearly anniversary tradition. Beautiful sunrise and sunsets as well. Worth waking up early for We can't wait to come back.

The Cloudland resort is simply breathtaking. My husband and I visited this resort for our wedding anniversary. We typically go out the country, however this year we opted for something a little different and we were not disappointed. From the time we arrived all the staff were amazing. They were friendly, helpful, and welcoming. We booked the Mountain View kind room and were pleasantly surprised upon check-in. The views from our room were simply stunning. They have a lovely little complimentary happy hour each evening where guests can enjoy two cocktails per adult which was a nice touch while you settle in. The grounds were immaculate with cozy sitting areas in various places around the property. They even had several fire pits outside to sit by. The weather was beautiful during our stay. The first evening we visited the SkyBar restaurant that had small plates. The food while smaller portions were good. The next morning we enjoyed breakfast at The Croft. They offer a brunch menu and/or a brunch buffet as options. After brunch we took a short hike on the walking trail and which gave access to beautiful views of the mountain. Our last night we visited Auld restaurant that was rather pricy but a lovely ambiance. The food was ok. We didn’t visit the heated pool or hot tub while there which is my only regret. Overall we truly enjoyed our stay and it was very relaxing. We will certainly visit again in the future. My only con was the overly expensive valet parking fee, $43, per night when you aren’t given an option to self park as others have mentioned. The food and drinks are also fairly pricey and given you really don’t have any other options for food with the secluded location you are left to spend a lot of money on food and drinks So be prepared.
