- MSMatthew ShafferJan 3, 20262.0I booked and paid for a room at Hampton Inn Titusville on January 2nd, 2026. I received confirmation via e-mail at 6:17pm. Then almost 6 hours later at 12:04am when we were almost there, Jay called from the hotel to say that the reservations desk made a mistake and there were no more rooms and he is cancelling our reservation and refunding me for the room charge already billed to my AmEx. He did not offer any compensation but at my request did call a couple of nearby hotels to check on availability for us. I then called Hilton corporate and again was not offered any compensation toward another hotel, even one in the Hilton family of hotels. Finally was transferred to guest services where a representative agreed, reluctantly, to deposit 30K Hilton Honors points in my account, but we still had to drive a lot farther and spend a lot more money (even after using the 30K Honors points toward the cost) for another hotel late at night. It should not have happened in the first place and it should not have been this difficult to receive some sort of compensation for the significant disruption to our trip and the additional cost.

Great breakfast with options of waffle and oatmeal besides the usual cereal, eggs, sausages, breakfast potato, choice of juices, coffee etc. Would definitely recommend.

Stayed there for one night on 08/04 paid their rate with no issues, then almost 4 months later they charged an additional $10 to my credit card (without my consent) for some apparent rate increase. I have stayed in many hotels and never had anything like this happen to me.
