  Recently stayed at this hotel and I was very impressed by the entire staff. I had a slight hiccup in booking and Deanna stepped in and fixed everything. The rooms were clean, the hotel was quiet throughout the day, and the location is perfect.

  We had a wonderful experience staying here during our school’s field trip to Tallahassee! The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-kept, and the breakfast each morning was great — our students really enjoyed it. The hotel team was extremely accommodating, especially the manager (whose name I unfortunately forgot) — she made sure our group had everything we needed and that our students had a blast. She even went above and beyond to make a major accommodation for us which I truly appreciated. From check-in to check-out, the service was friendly, efficient, and welcoming. The location was also perfect — just a short drive from FAMU’s campus. We’ll definitely be staying here again for future visits. Highly recommend!

  We had to cancel our stay at another hotel and book last minute at Tru hotel. The difference between the two hotels was CLEAR. I didn’t realize how much of a privilege it was to walk into a nice, clean hotel, that smelled good! It was super late and my 9 year old was tired, but as soon as we walked in, we noticed this location created a cute Halloween game (shouts out to Deanna at the front desk!). What could’ve been a sour night felt a million pounds lighter after entering into your hotel. The staff was super friendly (both night and morning time staff), and the rooms were cute and clean. 10/10!

  I’ve stayed at many Hilton properties over the years, and this was by far the most disappointing experience I’ve ever had. When we arrived around 6 p.m., our rooms weren’t even ready. We waited about 30–40 minutes in the lobby before being given keys. Once inside the room, I immediately discovered a roach on the bedding. I reported it to the front desk, only to be told that two other rooms (311 and 317) had the same problem that night. There was no manager on site, and the staff seemed unsure of how to handle the situation. Because it was a busy weekend, there were no alternative hotels available for my group, so we had no choice but to stay overnight. The next morning, I spoke with someone from housekeeping who casually shrugged off the situation and said the roaches were “a Florida thing.” As a native Floridian, I can assure you – roaches crawling inside guest rooms and on bedding is NOT normal. That’s a pest control issue. I was told the manager would call me later that day. No one ever did. When I followed up myself, the manager was dismissive, unprofessional, and abruptly ended the call after saying she “refunded a room,” with no explanation or written confirmation. Between the lack of cleanliness, the pest infestation, the poor communication, and the unprofessional handling of the situation, this was a completely unacceptable experience — especially from a Hilton-branded property. I would caution anyone considering this location to be aware of these issues. The standards here are nowhere near what Hilton represents.
