We live within an hour of this hotel and just wanted a place to relax together, alone, and take the night off from our hectic house right now. We booked this hotel because of the location and how inexpensive it was considering the location. In hindsight, I wish we would’ve either just stayed at home and saved money or spent more and booked a better hotel. After check-in, we went to our room to lay down for a bit before deciding to go out for the night. This is where we were unfortunately surprised by a loud noise in the bedroom, regarding the AC unit. It sounded like something was stuck in it or something. We decided to call room service and have someone come check it out or hopefully give us a different room. After about 20 minutes, someone came and she used a screwdriver, unscrewed the unit from the wall and put it back and gave us a thumbs up. She didn’t speak any english, which is fine, but when we asked “what happens if when we come back it’s still doing it” to which we didn’t get an answer really. She said if it happens again, it will be replaced in the morning, which doesn’t matter to us because we were leaving in the morning. We decided to forget about it and just go have fun and deal with it later because we were starving lol. We got back at like 10pm and decided maybe we will just SEE if they could move us to another room because it’s simply not relaxing at all. The front desk associate said “there’s nothing we can do for you” so with that, we tried to just tune it out. We started off by letting it run until we were sleepy, then try to just sleep with the noise. This was not the right decision. Not only was there the rattling, but when the unit turns off, it sounds like a car crash. We both run warm when we sleep so we are no stranger to playing around with AC units. This one, you click the buttons and they do nothing. You use the thermostat, and we set it to “cool on” somehow this still made it act like it was on auto? The turning on and off was so aggravating. I even turned on white noise on my phone to try to have that be louder so we could still have AC. At one point, probably around 2am, i got up and played on the thermostat enough to where i could get the unit to shut off. I turned the ceiling fan on high which apparently their version of high means barely spinning. It didn’t even provide as much as a breeze of air. So with the air being off and now no air flow at all, we slept with just the sheet, and were still hot. Mind you, while it was running, we set it to 67°. 67 was not 67. It was not cold. The pillows were also like SOOO feathered that you put your head on it and you sink to the mattress. I now need a vacation from our day-cation, because neither of us slept for more than an hour. You know it’s bad when in the middle of the night, after doing florida attractions and walking around all day, and you just want to go lay down and get sleep, you are both sitting there considering driving back home in the middle of the night instead of staying with the helicopter noise AC unit, or sweating. Idk. We clearly just suck stuff up and don’t usually complain, but it just sucks because this was meant to be a one night break AWAY from the lack of sleep and chaos at home and instead we were met with such an annoyance. Also, after we took showers, there was a weird like mold or sewer like smell from the bathroom which, being from Florida, we are used to bad water, but it was just a bad faint odor that we only smelled after a shower. Not a big deal but just another point to be made. Location was great and it was clean. Free breakfast was good and cute mickey mouse pancakes! Overall, I wouldn’t stay here again unless I was desperate.
Our stay at Homewood Suites by Hilton Orlando Theme Parks in August 2025 was without question the worst experience of our lives. A serious incident involving law enforcement took place on the property, yet the hotel’s management has done everything possible to deny it ever happened.
An urgent message for my partner was written on a tiny post-it note and left at the front desk, which was an incredibly careless and irresponsible way to handle something so important. That message was never passed on properly, causing chaos and distress for our family while we were stranded in another country. Even after showing clear proof of our stay and of the incident, the General Manager has refused to acknowledge anything.
I have tried to communicate all of this privately with both the hotel and Hilton corporate, but despite providing full documentation, I have not received any adequate or honest response.
What’s even more concerning is that after reading other reviews, it’s clear this property has serious ongoing issues. Guests have reported theft by housekeepers, missing belongings, rude staff, and unreasonable charges, including $27 per day for parking.
Hilton’s refusal to take responsibility for repeated failings is shocking and completely unacceptable. I strongly warn anyone against staying here. This hotel has shown no accountability, no professionalism, and no care for guest safety or wellbeing.
