When arriving to this place I was lost for like an hour, there was some construction going on in the area I wasn't sure where to park..I called the hotel for over an hour no one answered,so when I did find it,I parked across the Street, and when I went on,there wasn't a line,it wasn't busy,I asked clerk was it ok to park across the street he said yes, and told me that I needed to park on the side fourth street .So after checking in. I went to get my things from the car and there was a ticket on my car...a 50$ parking ticket ...I left for a couple of hours and came back to hotel parking space they turn inform me of 45.00 parking fee..No one ever told me about this either or the other charges it came up to 55.37..It took parking attendant almost twenty minutes to park me. Because of one person in front of me with Lamborghini..they tAlk,look at car, and didn't see no reason to rush ,even though I was literally sitting there..Got to room ,shower looks dirty, so I just decided to shower when I got on the cruise ship, the next day .Towell had red lipstick,I don't wear lipstick..one wash cloth to the room .It didn't smell clean,a lil dusty ..Front desk clerk even told me he was giving , me a ocean view, didn't occur to me until I reached the room, how was that possible .although I could see the top of a boat that was in port. Lol 😂..I'm not coming back here again..I don't mind paying my way..But at least tell me about all these extra charges, ,parking fees, and for God sakes ,answer the dang phone!!!
Truly awful hotel for the price.
Dust as if it was past a fallout event. Move the curtains and sneeze. Everything felt decrepit in the room and I'm not even picky with hotels.
But the price-to-quality ratio on this one still makes me remember it. It was a special experience. A grossly overpriced one.
Went to the restaurant and asked about the best dish... the waitress recommended going across the road and eating in restaurants there. Because they don't even like the food.
Negatives: pretty much everything except staff. This hotel needs a major remodel
Pros: no complaints about the staff everyone there was kind and doing their best, with clearly limited resources.
Overall... very overpriced for what it delivers.
Beware of this hotel, they are not honest. Booked a prepaid room through Super.com. Checked out for a cruise(transfer costs $8 per person), front desk said no charges. A noticed a week later on my credit card account a charge of $105 the day we checked out. Called 7 am to find out what was going on and the night auditor said the third party never paid them, so they are charging me. Told me to call accounting during business hours. At 9am, no one will pick up the phone. It just rings for a long time or someone picks it up and hangs up. I contact IHG, who says they can’t do anything but send an email to their contact.
I get email a day later that I will get refunded in a couple days. I get the refund, but then two days later they charge me another $105. Once again no one will respond. Many hours wasted on these crooks.
Disputed with my credit card and they backed me since I had the paperwork.
I note that when I was there, a lot of the guests were elderly and did not speak English well and may be vulnerable to scammers. Be very aware if you are booking for your parents. They are sharks.

On November 4th, 5th,6th and 10th,11th I traveled to Miami and stayed at the Holiday Inn. I was amazed by its location. Miami City is beautiful, and we took the Mover and Miami's Free Trolley – these modes of transportation were fantastic and very convenient, allowing us to reach any of the beautiful sights. Across the street from the hotel is Bayside Marketplace, a popular shopping area, and there are restaurants along the riverbank. What impressed me most was meeting a staff member named Eidrys Reyes. He was incredibly helpful. Because I'm an IHG member, I should have received a special check-in bonus, but surprisingly, he played a lucky draw game for me, and I was lucky enough to win 10,000 points! I was very grateful to him. At that time, I was staying for two consecutive days before going on a cruise. I told him I would return in five days after the cruise, and I was very fortunate to meet him again five days later. Even more special was that I arrived around 10 am, so he was willing to let me check in earlier. This made things very convenient for me, allowing us to spend the whole day exploring Miami City. I'm very grateful to this staff member, and I hope all hotel staff can provide such thoughtful service. Thank you!
Believe the other reviewers—2 -3 stars - they’re telling the truth.
I’m actually surprised this property is still part of the IHG brand. I booked two nights here, three days apart, and would’ve canceled the second night if I hadn’t prepaid for it.
The lobby is nice, but that’s where it ends. The front desk staff were curt and behaved like they are doing you a favor. There’s only one exception: the gentleman who works during the day at the IHG members desk was pleasant. The others were borderline rude.
I came down to the lobby three times to ask when they’d refill the main water dispenser in the lobby for drinking water. They kept saying they were waiting for the restaurant to fill it. When I went to the restaurant, they said it wasn’t their job. The dispenser never got filled. I then asked if, as a Platinum Elite member, I could get complimentary water bottles (as many Holiday Inns allow), especially since it was hot and my AC wasn’t working well. They told me bottles would be $3 each -
(these aren’t premium bottles, just the 25-50-cent ones you can buy in bulk at warehouse stores). I reminded them that hotels are required to provide potable water for guests per health code. They didn't care.
Luckily, there’s a CVS on the same block. So I took a walk to buy drinking water. They also don’t provide complimentary coffee or breakfast, which many Holiday Inns do.
As for the room: the carpets are grimy and desperately need to go. The hallways are dark. Removing the carpet would do wonders for this hotel. The first room I was assigned (423) had a broken door lock, a broken smoke alarm with wires hanging off the wall, and smelled like sewage. I requested to be relocated. The second room was only slightly better—everything seemed to work except the AC, which was still iffy and wouldn’t drop below a certain temperature. I also coughed a lot so I assume the vents are dirty. Or maybe it was the carpet.
Another issue: the checkout time behind the desk in the lobby says 11 AM, but the sign on the door in the room says 12 noon. I have no idea which one is correct, so double-check before you plan your departure. That's if you still plan to stay there.
The redeeming qualities: they offer an $8 shuttle to the cruise port, which is fair and reasonable. Though the next day I just used a ride share app as it was the same price with no wait time.
The location is good with shopping all around. However, there’s construction next door, so expect loud banging and a view of a worksite from your window.
Needless to say, I won’t be returning to this Holiday Inn. In fact, I’d be surprised if it remains part of the IHG brand. I’m a Platinum Elite member, but that made no difference here. You won't get acknowledged you won't get an upgrade you won't get free water or even any free drinking water, no breakfast, no morning coffee available in lobby, restaurant is over priced and to get any perks you'll need to ask for them as they'll not be offered.
I asked for my perks and was offered a free wine or beer coupon for the bar. Needless to say I won't be back unless this place gets a much needed make over/ upgrade.
Room Photos I attached were of the better room of the 3 I saw and was on the 9th floor next door to janitors room/closet so it was a little loud when they were talking outside.
