Ww were only supposed to stay 3 day ended up there 8 days. We had two conecting rooms. The rooms are comfortable and had a view of the river. It was in walking distance of downtown melbourne shops and restaurants. The days we did not feel like leaving we would either get room service, go to the rooftop restaurant, or even get food at the coffee shop connect to the lobby.

We chose Hotel Melby for our wedding room block, and it was the best decision we could have made. The location in downtown Melbourne is unbeatable—our guests loved being within walking distance of fantastic cafes, shopping, and bars. The rooms themselves were incredibly clean, spacious, and had a really unique, modern feel.
A huge standout was the rooftop bar, which served as the perfect gathering spot for our guests throughout the weekend. We want to give a special shoutout to Robert, who was incredibly accommodating and friendly; he truly went out of his way to make our stay feel extra special. From the initial room block booking to the final checkout, the entire staff was friendly and ensured everything ran smoothly. We cannot recommend this hotel enough for a wedding stay or a weekend getaway!

The room is clean and you have everything you need. However, if you are anything but a heavy sleeper, do not accept a room on the 10th floor. You will find yourself up at 12:23am writing a review since you cannot fall asleep due to the loud band and scraping of chairs at the rooftop bar. Also, a very loud train comes by 3/4 times a night. A great hotel for couples or solo travelers who want to be up late, but if you are traveling with small children or light sleepers, maybe not the best choice.

Unbelievably Poor Customer Service – New Year’s Eve Reservation
I am extremely disappointed with my experience at this hotel on New Year’s Eve.
I personally called the hotel directly using their local 321 phone number — not a third-party booking site — to make my reservation. Before booking, I specifically asked three separate times whether I could use a gift certificate I won in a silent auction for a New Year’s Eve stay. Each time, I was clearly told yes.
I received a reservation confirmation email today and to be extra cautious, I
called the hotel again to confirm my reservation and that I was using a certificate because I had trouble logging in. I was told again that my reservation was confirmed and that their system is quirky sometimes.
When we arrived to check in, the front desk clerk refused to accept the gift certificate, claiming the reservation must have been booked through Hilton reservations site. I explained that I absolutely booked directly with the hotel by phone. Her response was that if they’re busy, calls automatically roll over to another site.
How is a customer supposed to know that?
Despite having confirmation and calling multiple times to verify everything, we were told the certificate could not be used for tonight. she instead offered to sell me a room for over $200.
This experience was frustrating, misleading, and completely unacceptable. We relied on the information provided by the hotel itself and were still penalized at check-in. This ruined what was supposed to be a New Year’s Eve stay and reflects incredibly poor customer service.

Absolutely fantastic place to stay and we'll give most of the Credit to Jessica up at the landing bar. We've been with family for the last month and swinging in and staying the night here felt like our first day of actual vacation.
We didn't enjoy the "landing" as much so we ended up at the bar. Jess was not only attentive but was everything you hope for in a bartender. 1: fantastic drinks 2: attentive service 3: conversation without being over intrusive. Literally the ideal bartender.
Food was good, we split oysters Rockefeller and the ribeye (those potatoes are unreal) but it didn't really matter. Jess was great and it made the night.
Highly recommend.
