The Hampton inn in Marathon had a few deficits. The handles on the cabinets in the kitchenette we're clear down at the floor rather than at the top of the cabinets! Our AC unit was incredibly loud and noisy and rattled even more when it kicked on. The hostess in the breakfast area was rude and/or non-existent. She kept hiding the spray for the waffle irons in the cabinet rather than leaving it out. She would hang out back in the kitchen on her phone rather than keeping the area clean and items filled. The first morning there I had to go to the kitchen and knock on the door five times to ask for items that had run out. I reported this to the front desk and on the third day we actually had a gentleman he was on the ball! On the listing when I booked this hotel it stated that there was self parking. Upon receiving the final bill we were charged $10 a night for parking and a three-dollar miscellaneous fee!?!? Not once upon check-in where we told there was going to be a nightly fee for parking. It's a good location on the outskirts of Marathon. Forcing in the keys the price was acceptable.

Would not stay there again and recommend spending your money / staying elsewhere.
Breakfast is standard Hampton inn which tastes like prepackage, defrosted food (Pre-made sausage patties, omelettes, no fresh fruit considering the location in Florida Keys).
Hotel / Hilton app failed and wasn’t provided a digital key (it was 5pm and had to use the online chat) - apparently payment of credit card didn’t work. Had to go to the check in counter to provide the same credit card on file and then it worked. Mysterious as we haven’t had this issue when staying at other Hilton inns recently (We’re Hilton silver member).
Irritating $10/night charge for parking when there is no public transport in close vicinity and hotel is in a location where you need a car to drive around.
Rooms overall were clean, needs a refresh with damaged walls / swelling architraves in bathroom. AC only had two fan settings (high and low (off)) and was REALLY loud and couldn’t switch it off at night as it became too hot.

Das Hampton Inn in Marathon war unsere Unterkunft auf den Keys. Alles sauber und ordentlich. Pool, Poolbar. Kleiner Steg mit Blick aufs Wasser. Restaurants fussläufig erreichbar.

I'm a Hilton Diamond member. My grandmother passed away after the cancellation window had closed for my reservation. I had to cancel my entire Florida trip to go to her funeral in Tennessee instead. I called the hotel to notify them I would not be coming and asked if they could make an exception and provide me a refund. I offered to send them my grandmother's obituary as proof. Jill Campbell, the manager, cold-heartedly said no. Don't stay at this hotel. Go stay at other properties in the area who won't take your money in the midst of a family emergency. I hope you read this, Jill. You're a horrible person.
*edit*
I love how they replied and acted like they were looking into this. I have already contacted that number twice and the Hilton Honors Diamond line. All three times, the representatives said the decision was up to the general manager Jill, and all three times, Jill said no. They know I've done this and they're trying to publicly act like they care, when they don't. No, Hampton Inn. You will never have the opportunity to serve me or my family again. You guys are a bunch of vultures.

We had an absolutely perfect stay here on Christmas Day! We were able to check in a little early which was perfect since we had dinner reservations nearby that we had to get ready for. From check-in to check-out, the staff was friendly, courteous, and helpful. The room was absolutely perfect. Spacious, quiet, and easy for us to use while having our dog with us. Breakfast was good. We wish we could have used the pool and tiki bar (not enough time during this stay). This is the first Hilton property we have stayed at in the past two weeks that offered my Gold benefits (snacks/waters at check-in). It’s a great spot a bit more than halfway to Key West and we liked the quieter/calmer feel of this area. The dock behind the hotel with the Adirondack chairs was a lovely touch as well. W me would definitely stay here again. This hotel exemplifies why I continue to be loyal to Hilton properties! Thank you for a lovely, albeit short, stay!
