I had a mixed experience at the Buena Vista Hilton. On the positive side, the valet staff was extremely helpful and understanding, and the check-in process was very pleasant and welcoming. Customer service overall was friendly and responsive.
However, there were several issues that affected my stay. The bathroom faucet turns in both directions, making it difficult to fully turn off unless you find a very specific “sweet spot.” The bathroom also had an unusual smell, and both the bathtub and sink were clogged and did not drain properly. There was also no hand soap provided in the bathroom. In addition, only one out of the three elevators was working during my stay, which caused delays and inconvenience. The room smelled like dirty socks, which made it difficult to sleep. When the front desk was contacted, they told us to open the window and turn on the fan…
That said, room service was quick to respond once these issues were reported, which I appreciated. While the staff did their best to help, the maintenance and facility issues were disappointing for a hotel of this caliber.
We stayed at the Hilton Orlando Buena Vista Palace (supposedly the nicer of the two). Staff was very friendly but rooms were dated and a bit moldy smelling (we had 2 rooms and both smelled that way). The shower door leaked and tile had black mold in the cracks (even after daily cleaning). But the water pressure was really good. The King bed is a narrow California king and not the regular size. The cabinet drawers for clothes were broken and continually fell off the tracks and the particle board bottoms were black with mold. One rooms mini fridge only froze everything and there was no way to turn it down. The rooms don’t have microwaves even though the front desk said they did when we called… miscommunication perhaps. Tap water smells very chlorinated and there’s no filtered water bottle filling station anywhere in sight… supposedly there’s one inside the locked gym but couldn’t find it and it’s on the other side of the resort. There’s no key card required to get to the pool, get towels or go in the elevator… resort was super busy so maybe this place gets flooded with people not paying for rooms and using this as a public swimming pool? Not sure. In Dec/Jan pool temps were around 86 and hot tub 101. The pool bar service (shades) was good as long as you are in chairs near the main pool. We found they didn’t have enough staff to get out to other locations but you can still order up at the bar. The room service food is served in cardboard and plastic takeout containers… no real dishes. Better just to get door dash since the menu is really limited. The one food store on location is super busy and has decent pizza, grab and go hot sandwiches, soups and snacks. We also ate dinner at the Letterpress but wasn’t impressed… the cocktails seem to just be overpriced bottled “on the rocks” mixers poured into a glass with a lime on the side. The food was not that great… ravioli tasted microwaved. The breakfast buffet eggs didn’t taste real (even those in the omelet station) but the next day I ordered from the menu and that was good. This is definitely a 3 star hotel that’s slipping. We stay at a LOT of Hiltons and Marriotts and Hilton definitely needs to invest in some upgrades here. It feels like they are deferring maintenance thinking people will continue to book here just because of its location. The one redeeming quality was the super friendly staff that was quick to help and respond when you needed something.
Im going to leave an extremely honest review. The hotel its self is pretty nice. Pool is awesome. Food is ehh but to be expected at this price point of a hotel. Managers garbage. This is what you are really in for. Saddle up people the sales team here will relentlessly bother you to sign up to go to the 1 hour to 2 hour sales pitch where they offer you all this stuff blah blah. Listen its a scam. If you want to do a time share go for it. But this is the terrible part about this hotel. They will keep asking you and asking you over and over. Every single day multiple times per day you will be harassed to sign up. My wife wanted to I didn't. We argued every single time. This was supposed to be a relaxing vacation. NOPE THEY WILL HOUND YOU AT THE POOL. HOUND YOU IN CITRUS SEATING WHILE YOU ARE EATING. NO RELAXING BY THE POOL TILL THEY BOTHER YOU A COUPLE TIME PER DAY. EVEN AFTER YOU SAY NO THANK YOU AND LEAVE US ALONE. . I called the person in charge at the hotel twice and he actually said WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO. 🤯 I guess nothing. I told him I didn't want to be bothered by salesman while relaxing by the pool and having to argue about this over xmas vacation. What a joke this place is all because of these relentless sales people. Hilton really dropped the ball. So so disappointed with this place. Oh yeah and the bathroom whenever you would shower and get things wet these tiny little bugs would come out from the cracks and crawl all over the floor super fast. Very very tiny hard to see bugs . I looked it up they were some kind of ant. Either way just gross. I dealt with the ants

The Hotel itself is very clean. The team that works at the hotel including restaurants are very friendly.
Our First room has a beautiful view of a roof displaying a modern day dirty diaper and a dirty/used bath towel, alongside cigarette butter and other frequent add-ons. I politely asked if there would be any open rooms that would be possible to move to, we were moved to an AMAZING, STUNNING, BREATH TAKING room, it really perked me up, I suffer from chronic pain and I was having a really bad flare up at that time and it just made me so happy... until I went into the restroom to freshen up, I stepped in water, I couldn't find where it was coming from because the light wasn't working. The said the wanted to move us to another room, since the didn't have anyone to fix it, my husband went down to the lobby to get that sorted out, I had to pack up out stuff AGAIN. The next room was fine.
The other issue we had with this hotel is they said they were going to refund money back on our card, but the just kept taking money off our credit card, and more money, and more money!! We don't have a lot of money, the had already taken $600 too much that was to be refunded and wasn't to find out another random $159 was taken out today for God knows what. The shuttle never came to get us from MK, so the hotel was kind enough to off to reimburse us a taxi fee, but then they fought us on it. Then the gave is a hotel credit, as a "We're sorry" only to not be able to actually be able use it. They locked the funds. Needless to say, our last night on our vacation, my husband was in the lobby dealing with all this crap and trying to use the credit to put towards food for our flight home since the hotel took our cushion going home money for breakfast. I was in the room packing. Oh, we were there December 23-27, 2025... MERRY CHRISTMAS :/
We stayed here with our son and daughter-in-law and their two kids, ages 2 and 4. We asked for adjoining rooms, which we got, but unfortunately, a large credenza blocked the door. I had to move the credenza to allow a passageway between our rooms. This was annoying. The rooms are decent, with comfortable mattresses and pillows. The bathrooms are a little outdated. We discovered after our two-night stay that they do not clean the rooms in between, for a family or two young kids. This was very inconvenient.
The hotel is conveniently located next to Disney Springs. It is about a 15-minute walk along a pathway and over the bridge to Disney Springs. There are three main complexes to this hotel. We stayed in the palace Complex? This was good since it had direct access to the pool and the lagoon. There is a place to get food and drinks—just a short walk around the pool. There is a bar that is open next to the pool. There is also a large playground covered in Astroturf, which turned out to be perfect since the kids could run around and let off some steam. There is a large tic-tac-toe game and a cornhole board. This is located right next to the bar and the pool. Location-wise, this was great.
The food place called Campus or Canvas 38 was very convenient. Prices are higher, but that is to be expected. There is beer and wine available as well as ready-made sandwiches. The coffee is good.
One night, my wife and I decided to go to the bar for a drink. They directed us to another building, and we went to the third-floor restaurant called Letter Press. This was the first time at this hotel that I experienced almost hostile service from the bartender. When we walked into the bar, three people were leaning back against the bar with their hands in their pockets. None of them greeted us. I tried to chat with the bartender, Bill, but he was very cold. The woman at the hotel reception very cold. Indeed not a welcoming experience for us.
The bartender and the person at the reception were inhospitable. This is a significant contrast to the staff at the Magic Kingdom, who were uniformly smiling and welcoming.
We had breakfast last morning. When one adult gets the buffet, two kids under five get their meals free, which was a good deal. The food was good, and the service was very good.
There’s a shuttle that runs regularly over to the Disney places. You can reserve one via the QR code on the card they gave us.
The best places are much less expensive than other hotels. Great for kids, with a playground and a pool. If the staff in the. If the staff at the Letter press bar and the reception had worked on their customer service, it would have been a much more pleasant experience. Oh, the shuttle bus drivers were a part of your family, very friendly and accommodating.
