Website talks up the place like it is modern and refurbished. Yeah sure. No lights at all near bed. Sink top of bathroom leaks all over whenever you use the faucet so you don’t want to use it to clean up or shave your face. Breakfast buffet was very good to excellent though. Dinner snacks bar chips and salsa stuff not very good. This was a great place to catch uber to cruise port. They send text and email asking about room but then they don’t do anything to fix things.

If you want a room with a balcony don't stay here! I am very disappointed with my stay at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Fort Lauderdale 17th Street. I specifically booked a room with the larger balcony. When I entered the room, the room had the smaller balcony. Also, the balcony chairs were covered in plastic. I went back to the front desk and was told that I had to upgrade to the room that I already booked. I agreed to pay the additional upgrade fee. When I entered the room with the larger balcony, again the balcony furniture was covered in plastic. There was also a sign on both balcony doors that due to maintenance, do not use the balcony between the hours of 9 am and 5 pm. I wish that the front desk staff told me that the balconies were not usable. I stayed at this location in November of 2024. I will never stay here again.

The rooms are spacious but a bit outdated. The showers are luke warm at best as was the breakfast. The happy hour food was meh and the drink choices are limited. The people were polite and helpful but it's obvious the management is out for cutting corners and overcharging wherever they can. The location is convenient to the ships but next time I'll stay a bit further away and pay for an Uber or another transport service. $450 per night plus an additional $50 for early checkin when they have the rooms available is ridiculous!! If we didnt already have the transportation package, i would have found another hotel on the return trip. The management apparently recently did a multi million dollar renovation (not sure what they changed) and they are looking to make it up as quickly as possible. Highly recommend finding another option if you are cruising out of FLL.

I want to start by saying that I stay at Hilton properties about 90% of the time when I travel, and this review may seem a bit detailed in certain areas but that’s because Hilton is in its own category. We do pay above the average price to stay with them, and therefore, expectations are naturally higher. With that being said, I’ll start with the highlights and then move on to some areas that could use improvement. The Positives: The included breakfast here is beyond what you would expect. They offer just about everything you can think of, plus a station where a chef will make you any type of omelet you’d like which is amazing. The staff has been nothing short of excellent. We arrived around 10:00 a.m., even though check-in isn’t until 4:00 p.m., since we had just gotten off a cruise and had nowhere else to go. The team kindly stored our luggage for us, allowing us to enjoy the hotel and the surrounding area (there are plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance). This small gesture really made a difference for us. The rooms were also very clean, as expected, but still worth mentioning. The Negatives: There were a few things that, for a Hilton, I found unacceptable. We booked a double queen room with a balcony, which is slightly more expensive than the standard double queen without one. However, as shown in the photos, the exterior section of that part of the hotel was being painted. While I appreciate that the property is being maintained, we paid for balcony access and did not have it. This was not communicated to us beforehand, and nothing was offered to make up for the extra cost we paid. A simple “sorry for the inconvenience” didn’t feel like enough considering we essentially paid for an upgraded feature we couldn’t use. The pool area was great, as expected, but the jacuzzi appeared extremely dirty, so much so that we chose not to get in because of how unclean it looked. Lastly, we booked this hotel of the main reasons because it advertised “airport transportation included.” Typically, when something is listed as “included,” it means it’s free with your stay just like when a meal comes with a drink included. However, in this case, the transportation was available for purchase, not actually included. It was $12 per person, which felt misleading, especially since we were able to get a large Uber (XXL) for $18 total for four people. Overall: It was a good stay, and I would consider staying here again if needed. However, I do feel that some improvements should be made especially for the price point and the reputation that Hilton represents for guests like me who stay with them all over the world.

We stayed at this embassy suites from Saturday, November 1 to Sunday, November 2, 2025 before our cruise. We don’t typically stay at embassy suites but we stayed in one on our last trip to Florida in March too. The room is really nice and so is the pool. We enjoyed happy hour as well, and the staff here are so polite. We had great views too and enjoyed the breakfast on Sunday morning. Our stay here was brief but enjoyable! Thank you, we will definitely stay here again if going on another cruise! (Written 11-10-25)
