  WE DO NOT RECOMMEND STAYING AT THE HAMPTON INN at DESTING!! We were extremely disappointed with our stay at the Hampton Inn & Suites Destin. For the high price we paid during peak season, we expected the usual Hampton standards, but this place is desperately in need of a major upgrade and the room we got was "supposedly already upgraded"! The rooms felt outdated and worn – furniture was stained, broken andnscratched, carpets stained, and the bathroom had visible large black mold in plain sight around the tiles. There was sand everywhere all over the floors, and on the sheet!! The bed had black bug shells and black moldish stains in the corners where the seams were. The AC unit was as loud as a desiel and struggled to stay on or cool the room properly. When we asked about the issues in the room the woman stated "It's a Hampton inn, what you get for a beach town". You still have to abide by standard, quality standards under the Hilton Brand Name! The location is right on very busy Highway 98, so expect to hear constant traffic noise, constant car radios, constant motorcycles all night long – we barely slept, even with earplugs provided by the hotel (so hotel know there is an issue to buy ear plugs, earplugs are cheaper than replacing windows? The hotel website LIES, THERE IS NO DIRECT BEACH ACCESS either; you have to cross the road and walk down 5 blocks to a public entrance, which felt inconvenient and unsafe with kids. On top of that the beach access ACROSS from the hotel is LIMITED ACCESS, which means YOU CANNOT USE THE BEACH, its private and roped off all the way down the 5 blocks!! Breakfast was chaotic and subpar – long lines, limited seating, and the food ran out quickly with no quick replenishment an hour before breakfast ended. The single employee seemed overwhelmed and not friendly or helpful at all when we mentioned issues. Overall, this felt like a budget dive motel masquerading as a Hampton Inn. We've stayed at many Hamptons before and this seriously was by far the worst. This is a BOTTOM FEEDER NO-TEL HOTEL!! Save your money and choose somewhere else in Destin – there are much better options nearby. WE WILL NOT BE RETURNING!

  We love coming to this hotel but during our winter holidays trip it was disappointing to see the renovation going on. While booking the room, it was not mentioned anywhere.

  Wish they would have mentioned in the booking process that the hotel is under major renovation. A little tidy up here and there is one thing, but there were entire hallways of bare drywall and the fitness center was unavailable. Also room arrangement didn’t make any sense. There was no desk in the room - just a round table without an outlet located nearby. Had to plug my computer in on the other side of the wall.

  BED BUGS! Be careful. My face swelled to the point where my eye almost closed from the multiple bed bug bites. Of course they said they got a 3rd party to test the room and said they didnt report anything. Im not stupid. The people are smarter than you think! Also, the room had mold!

  I recently stayed at this hotel and unfortunately encountered several issues that affected my stay. The property is currently undergoing renovations—a fact I wish had been clearly communicated beforehand. It would have helped set more realistic expectations. Inside the room, the condition of the shower/tub was concerning. Pieces literally came off when touched, which didn’t feel safe or up to standard. Additionally, the AC unit was extremely loud, sounding almost like a jet engine taking off every time it turned on. It made it difficult to relax or sleep comfortably. Despite these drawbacks, I do want to highlight that the staff was genuinely kind and helpful throughout my stay. Their professionalism and friendly attitude were the bright spots of the experience. Overall, while the service was great, the room conditions and lack of renovation notice made the stay less enjoyable than expected. Hopefully these issues will be resolved once renovations are complete.
