My parents are Hilton Honors members and frequently stay at Embassy Suites, but we were extremely disappointed with our stay on December 27.
We booked a 2 night stay with points, but we were not able to modify the stay to 1 night. We called the front desk, spoke to the front desk in person and called Hilton.
We checked out after 1 night, and we were told that we would not be charged for 2 nights. We were still charged for 2 nights.
The heat inside our room wasn’t working, and it was loud when you tried to turn it on. The maintenance staff wasn’t able to fix it.
There’s some rust inside our room’s shower and at the pool.
My family will be leaving a formal complaint.
Based on my experience, my stay here was not the greatest. I stayed here during the Christmas season and the highlight of my stay was the boardwalk right outside the hotel. The location was great, easy to drive around to different stores. The main entrance looks very nice including the beautiful atrium. There's alot of seating in the main floor. I started to noticed a difference the minute we walked to our room located in a separate wing of the hotel..
The hotel was just ok, I was disappointed with the bathrooms and the hotel shampoo, conditioner , soaps etc the scents were not pleasing to me. My room had a bit of a musty smell and the pillows were uncomfortable. I was hoping for a kcup coffee maker (as I carry my own) but no luck there either. The breakfast was not great.
Based on the many reviews of this place I want to be as thorough as possible in my review.
My number one priority in any hotel is cleanliness, and this place met that requirement. The room floors, beds, even the furniture and pull out couch were clean, and based on the feedback I read on this place I was paranoid and checked more thoroughly that normal.
Next priority is food, and they passed this with one critique. The buffet was excellent, and the number of options next level, my only critique, with such a large Jewish and Muslim community in the area, and I am sure vegetarian, I would have expected at least one of the three meat options to not be pork. If there was that option, nothing was labeled to know that fact. Besides that they had eggs, potatoes, pancakes, 3 pork protein options, omelettes (made to order) a variety of breads with a toaster, three kinds of cereal, porridge or grits ( I'm not sure), and many other options I am probably forgetting. They probably had 8-10 different drink options from water and milk to juices. The fountain drinks had no syrup though. The seating was plentiful in the atrium. They also offered two free drinks per guest and snacks (pretzels, popcorn, and veggies & dip) during the evening hours.
The pool was large enough for a group of 20 plus swimmers and not feel too crowded.
The proximity to EVERYTHING was top notch. Enjoy a walk around the lake and walk over to the mall in 15 minutes or less. The fact that you don't have to pay for parking and are this close to most things was a great perk.
My one and only issue was the ventilation, at some point I believe someone lit a cigarette or cigar in another room and for about 15 minutes the smell was pretty intense in our room, but subsided shortly after.
The building is older, the rooms and the technology is outdated, but I do not stay in my room except to sleep so this was not an issue. I will say the pictures Embassy Suites posted are misleading, the bathrooms are tiny and the showers are not modern, but again, they were clean and got the job done. I do wish they could rearrange the rooms to put queens in the rooms instead of doubles, those are a lot harder to share that I thought they would be.
Finally the staff, they were all friendly and available when I needed them which was three times during our stay at various times throughout the night across a three night stay, so that was a big plus as well.
In closing, I do not wish to diminish others' issues with the hotel, I am not them, I can only speak for myself, but based on those negative comments I was on heightened alert and probably more paranoid than I needed to be and they still met the challenge.
My children now want us to look into more Embassy Suites due to how well this stay went.

We stayed here for 3 nights while visiting Orlando during Christmas week. The location itself is great with lot of stores and eateries available right around the hotel. It also is located next to a lake which was beautifully decorated by the township for holidays.
The hotel itself seemed well maintained in the common areas . The room was clean but still felt stuffy. The bathroom is surely outdated and should be renovated. The water smelled burnt whenever hot water was running 🤷🏻♀️.Also, there are very limited channels in the tv. For a hotel of this grand they should atleast have Netflix and Amazon capability added to be logged in as these days everyone prefers to leisurely watch and enjoy their stay. The breakfast was decent with make your own omelette counter but the remaining options were same everyday with no variety. They should consider rotating the variety of food served for customers to look forward to try different things. The tea bag varieties were just 1 , other hotels provide atleast 4-5 varieties atleast 😞

BEWARE. This hotel is just plain vile. Upon entering, the decorated atrium style lobby might fool you that this is a 4 star hotel. But look a little closer. If not for our 8am flight, we would have left to find a new hotel for our stay immediately. We booked two rooms that were supposed to be side by side since we are traveling in a family group with young children and required two rooms. But that’s not where the real problem lies.
The first room we were given, Room 209 in the main wing, REEKED of mold. Eye burning bad. I am a trained mold remediation technician. I know the smell too well. In addition, when we entered the room the thermostat was set to 65° but blowing warm air. The room was unbearably hot and humid. Everything felt damp, including the carpet. The air was thick and sickly. There was also an undertone of cigarette smoke to make it even worse. I could not make the thermostat work, nor could I open the windows. We were terribly disappointed too when we realized they had not placed us in side by side rooms, as the children’s room was room 237 in the Palm Wing, and ours was room 209 in the Main building. We thought the 200 numbers meant we were at least on the same floor. No, it meant separate buildings. We immediately asked for new rooms so we could be next to one another as we had been promised, and get out of moldy room 209. We were then given room 236 in the Palm Wing; right next door to the children’s room as we had originally requested.
The Palm Wing was no saving grace however. The suspended ceiling track is rusted throughout the hallways (meaning moisture problems are present), the smell of mold permeates the halls, and is only faintly covered up by the heavy perfumes and fragranced cleaning sprays the hotel staff are using (unsuccessfully) to mask the odor. Room 237 smells strongly of cigarette smoke and room perfume, and when we turned the air on we were met with a blast of moldy smelling air.
Room 236 also smelled of mold, but appeared to be in better condition. The air conditioning worked in the new room, which was much appreciated, even if we’re still inhaling mold spores and stale cigarette smoke. The bathtub had been painted at some point, and the paint is peeling off the inside of the tub. Thankfully we leave at 5am.
Finally, the surface of the hot tub looked like a bubble bath, you could not see the water through the foam, so we decided it best to keep out of the hot tub and pool as that typically indicates poor water quality or an issue of one kind or another (we own a hot tub back home).
I cannot in good conscience recommend this cesspool of a “hotel”. There was nothing even 1 star about this property once you walk beyond the lobby. It’s only wow factor is the atrium-style lobby afterall, and even then the buildings age and lack of maintenance is showing terribly in that room, regardless of all the “wet paint” signs they’ve stuck around.
Stay far, far away from Embassy Suites Orlando North if you’re looking for clean, safe, and healthy accommodations. The backseat of your car is closer in nature to a four star hotel than this mess.
