⭐️⭐️ Two Stars — Very Disappointing Stay
I’ve stayed in the area many times and decided to try this hotel instead of my usual spot. Even though the building looks newer and more modern, the room itself was a major letdown.
I paid extra for a river-view room — which was the only positive — but the entire stay was overshadowed by a massive fruit-fly infestation. I’m not exaggerating when I say I ended up killing over fifty of them. I had to put all my food and snacks in the fridge just to keep the flies away. When I informed the front desk late in the evening, instead of offering a room change or sending housekeeping, they handed me a bottle of Lysol and told me to spray the room myself. So after coming back from rehearsal at 10pm, I spent nearly two hours spraying and killing flies, then turning the AC to freezing just to make the air breathable again. Completely unacceptable.
The cleanliness issues didn’t stop there:
• Floors were sticky — the bottoms of my dance shoes were filthy after practicing
• Hair in the bathroom, sink, and on surfaces
• Dust/debris on tables
The room clearly wasn’t properly cleaned or maintained.
On top of that, housekeeping knocked twice before noon (their actual checkout time), even though I was in the middle of a Zoom meeting. Front desk only granted a 12:30 checkout, which honestly felt like the bare minimum considering everything that went wrong.
This hotel has potential, but the lack of cleanliness, poor response from staff, and overall room condition made the stay extremely frustrating. I won’t be returning unless they make serious improvements.

This was the third Homewood Suites of our trip from NC to NY and back, and I'd place it second of the three.
We received the river view upgrade but the view of the river was limited; however, the view towards Wilmington at night was lovely.
The quick access to the river walk is really great. We didn't arrive early enough to spend as much time on it as I would have liked, but we did walk down and order dinner from Riverfront Asian Cuisine to bring back to the room.
The staff on 10-22 around 5 was really great!
Our room was decent but a little quirky. The shower had trouble warming, the AC was loud, the ceiling fan wasn't working, and the bathroom vent fan was just on. But the beds and other furniture were comfortable. The room was clean but could just use a little TLC for the electrical.
Other reviews mention difficulty parking, but it was quiet while we were there; that being said, seems like hotel patrons should get free or discounted parking and priority.
Breakfast was Ok. I loved the fresh blueberries during my stay. I tried to go to the social hour but there was virtually no food and only lemonade or alcohol when I checked around 6. I picked up sodas from the Suite Shop which were reasonably priced.
Would stay again. Just maybe not in the upgraded room ;)

2/5 Disappointing
Parking is rediculous! We had to park very far away and could not even get on the hotel parking lot because it was full every night. it was right on the Riverwalk and they had walks and bike ride events daily so that was nice to watch while sitting outside eating their amazing breakfast. No cleanliness issues. Some good restaurants close by as well.

Gross! Beautiful hotel with spacious modern rooms. Unfortunately the floors and surfaces were disgustingly unclean. We observed the cleaning crew on our floor when we left and they didn't even have mops or vacuums on their carts. Our room shower gel was empty. Parking lot was full, had to park at planet fitness.

Although I did not get an opportunity for a view of the river, my stay was quite enjoyable! Due to diet restrictions I try to stay in Hilton hotels with a kitchen. My room was spacious and the kitchen had items needed for cooking.
Front desk was helpful and very pleasant! I would stay here again!
