The staff was very cheerful and helpful. The hotel was installing fancy new lobby decor, so a lot of painting and such was going on. Clean rooms, comfy beds.

My first visit to Wlimington and I had a good stay at the DoubleTree. It's centrally located and easily walkable from the train station. The service is nice - I was checked in by Andrea who was very friendly and gave me a lot of great tips. The place seems to be in construction in many areas so I know, once completed, it will be an even better experience. I suggest joining the Hilton Honors program to get more benefits for your stay! I'll come back again.

DO NOT STAY HERE! Horrible condition of the rooms and property management will lie to your face Horrible experience, not just with the quality of the room, but with the staff customer service: - Booked a 4 night stay and raised issues with the room on night 1 due to black mold, rusted pipes and clearly not cleaned bedding - Was told hotel was fully booked and no other rooms available - Stayed 3 nights and started having health issues (coughing, skin rash) - Was offered a 50% refund and different room for night 4 - Front desk confirmed the 50% refund will be applied through Expedia during check-out - Contacted Expedia and they were told by the hotel that no refund will be issued - Emailed Property Manager (Shannon) as she was the person who offered the 50% refund but was ignored despite 3 follow-up emails - Currently raised a complaint with Hilton corporate regarding willful misrepresentation and fraud

My wife and I booked a room nearly a month in advance to stay overnight after attending a wedding. When we arrived to check in at 3 PM, we were told that no rooms were ready yet and that we would be able to check in later that night after the wedding. However, when we returned to the hotel that evening, we were informed that all the rooms had been filled and that we would not be able to stay. The staff was extremely rude throughout the ordeal and completely dismissive of the massive inconvenience this caused. We were told that this “just happens sometimes,” and the staff acted as if it was unreasonable for us to be upset about the situation. By the time it was made clear that we would not be able to stay, it was nearly midnight. Rather than be stranded in Wilmington, my wife and I had to make the two-hour drive home. While we were speaking with the front desk, a line of guests had formed behind us—many of whom were also having issues checking in or getting into their rooms. The woman at the front desk initially said that the situation was “above her pay grade,” but when we asked to speak with whoever was in charge, she told us that she was the one in charge. I’m typically a very patient and understanding person when dealing with issues outside of an employee’s control, but to be met with absolutely no sympathy during such a major inconvenience—and to see so little effort put into resolving it—was a first for me.

Had a miserable experience. We traveled 10 hours for a wedding and got to town, decided a hotel would be nice rather then stay with family so we booked a room where we thought would be nice. Upon arrival there was a lot of construction which isn’t a problem but should have been a red flag, we check in and get to our room to find that there was no hot water, this wasn’t told to us when we checked in or I would have canceled and saved my money, when I went to the front desk they apologized and insisted they had been telling everyone about this but yet other guests seemed to have no idea either. They said they’d reach out to air Bnb to issue a 50% refund, a month later no refund and I had to jump through hoops to get air Bnb to even offer a 30% discount. End of the day don’t waste your money and go somewhere that values their guests, on our way to check out they finally posted this in the elevator. Just an overall poor experience and don’t recommend
