First of all, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. A lot of smiling faces and kindness in the lobby. The downside is the parking is atrocious. Very scary to try to access the valet lane. The Hilton app took me in the wrong direction and had me circling the hotel numerous times creating frustration. I searched for a hotel with a pool and a hot tub in the Hilton honors app . At check-in, I verified that they had an open pool and hot tub. When I went to relax in the hot tub, it was cold. There was no sign or closed information. I finally tracked down someone that knew something. He quickly informed me there was a part on order. I suggested that he left the front desk know and maybe put a sign up. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel for anyone that is not from a big city fast pace horn blowing environment. It was pretty scary trying to get here. Also it does not feel like a luxury hotel. The lobby smelled of marijuana.

Rooms: our cold water handle was broken so you had to find the sweet spot to get it to stop running. The toilet handle kept sticking so when the kids flushed you had to go back in there and unstick it. The pillows were god awful. The coffee maker didn’t work and the fridge didn’t get cold. Outdated but was clean.
Hotel: the lobby has the worst layout ever. Instead of the desk being in the center to allow flow of traffic it was on the side with a huge structure beam and a couch so check in/out people had to keep moving for those of us trying to get to the elevator. The staff is also not knowledgeable about the town. We asked for an ice cream location and they sent us to CVS (there’s an ice cream shop 3 blocks away). The hot tub was only at 85, same as the pool. Waaaay too much chlorine. One elevator was broken so the wait was long and crowded. The rooms were clean for us- no issues there. In the pool we met a lady that said she was on the 4th floor and had to move to the 7th because she had cockroaches.
Location: you’ve got a few good places to eat. Ted Bulletin was kid friendly and delicious. St. Anslem was awesome. Starbucks and Peet’s both right here. The area is “up and coming” per the locals. Its not trendy or cute and its ‘far’ from the monuments, Ubers are a plenty though.

Stayed here three nights on a business trip and would do so again. I like the Hilton Garden Inns quite a bit and this was was basically on par with the others, though a few features had some minor scratches. The big plus was it's just a block from a quick Metro trip downtown and now you can just tap a credit card rather than having to buy a pass. The downside is I saw police blocking off a street for an arrest and another confrontation with police. I never felt unsafe but it wasn't what I'd want for a family vacation. Parking was also a bit pricey.
