Loved our experience here! We were upgraded to a suite with an awesome view of the top of Capital building! The bed was a little tough, but I think it may have been a murphy bed and the nicer room was worth the tough mattress. The public spaces are lovely and fresh. While our breakfast at the restaurant wasn't amazing it was still solid overall. Really good location to explore the city with a few good restaurants right around the corner. We would definitely go back as it was clean and just felt comfortable. Pro Tip- Park in the garage across the street at the Hall of States using SpotHero to save significantly versus valet. Not even a 2 min walk and it's safe and secure.

My family just returned home from a three night stay. It was absolutely amazing! From the moment I checked in until we left DC, the staff was so very hospitable. I have stayed in many locations and many different hotels while traveling but this felt like my home away from home which was very important. I always felt safe, valued, and welcomed. We loved the location, we loved our clean and spacious rooms, and loved interacting with the staff. Even though the hotel was undergoing remodeling efforts, it did not interfere with the staff ensuring that our trip was perfect. The hotel was clean and beautifully decorated for Christmas. Thank you Hilton Capitol Hill for such a wonderful home away from home!

Stayed here one night for a conference. Breakfast ($30 extra) was absolutely terrible (limp eggs and bacon, very little choice)… and they somehow decided that breakfast was the right time for the loudest indoor construction I’ve ever heard. Impossible to eat much less have a meeting. Plenty of other choices of hotels nearby. Will be going to those next time.

This is going to be a long review. TL;DR: Woke up to loud construction seemingly from right above my room, gym was closed (though that was posted on website), and by far the worst, woke up to a series of red bites in a row on a few points on my body that seemed indicative of bed bugs I had a pretty awful experience at this Hilton establishment. I awoke to the sound of loud construction, despite me sleeping with earplugs. It seemed like it was coming from right above my room. I had no initial warning. I can't remember exactly what time, but it was before 9am. Far worse, I had several bites that were clustered that seem suggestive of bed bugs (photos attached). I consulted with two friends, one of whom is a doctor and the other medical entomologist, and they said they looked like bed bug bites but you can never be certain. That started a whole process that disrupted my work trip, as I worked to ensure that my stuff would not be infested and get bed bugs to my friend's place in DC in which I was moving to that night or for my eventual trip home. The hotel staff was overall nice and understanding, especially previous to this incident, but was a bit tight-lipped about bed bugs. They did not want to take any liability, but a cursory search through reviews suggests it may not be their first time with this issue (though it would be unfair to fully blame them). They did not realy support me as I worked to kill any bed bugs by laundering/drying my stuff (they said there was no onsite laundry and could not get it dried in time, even though I was in town in for 2 more days). They would not let me have a blow dryer or steamer to clean my bag. They would not let me back into the room to check for any bed bugs myself after I had moved my stuff out to reduce chance of infestation in my things. They did, however, give me garage bags to put all of my stuff in and stored them while I was at my conference—for me to deal with later. They apparently had a third party investigator come out a few days later and that investigator did not find anything, but apparently, the investigator either was not shown the image of the bites or had no comment about it. After several back and forths with the hotel staff, hotel management, and Chase Travel (since I booked through them), they stood firm in not reimbursing me even partially. They did provide a small amount of Hilton points (which expire). Given that you have many choices for hotels in the Capitol Hill area, I am not sure I recommend choosing this Hilton. But, if you do, perhaps booking directly with them allows you to have more possibility in addressing a concern if something goes wrong (though I doubt it because they have less leverage than Chase Travel I'm sure). If you're wondering, after doing all of the steps I mentioned above (drying my clothes, steaming my bag, etc.) at my friend's place, I thankfully do not believe I brought any bed bugs to them or home. But still, what a disappointing stay from what is usually such a reliable hotel chain.
