The Slate Hotel is a Hampton Inn disguised as a 4 star hotel. Rooms are mid at best and small. Food is what you would expect at an airport. Service is good but not 4 star hotel level. Buyer beware: though you can find this hotel in the under $100 category on Priceline, your stay will cost you much more as everything is ala carte. Parking is $59 a night and really the only option unless you want to go move your car once a day. (Parking in the area is max 12 hrs) No free breakfast. No free anything. Even the 2 bottles of water in the room are $2.50 each. I've honestly spent less and had much better accommodations at budget hotels.

Quick update - while Hilton gave me info on how to call or email and deal with god only knows how many robots before talking to a person, as they do on all their negative reviews, they could have SIMPLY refunded me the money. I won't be jumping through their hoops, my time is more valuable to me.
Upon arrival at the Slate I went to have my truck valet parked. Unfortunately the valet did not know how to drive a manual transmission. I was instructed to park my truck myself, in the courtyard (not inside the locked and secure valet garage). I was told that another valet would arrive later in the shift who knew how to drive a manual and would park my truck. However, upon going to get my truck in the morning, there it was parked exactly where I left it. I figured this would be an easy $59 refund, since no valet ever touched my truck. However, Nate (the valet "manager") indicated the charge would not be refunded since the hotel took on the liability of my vehicle on their property. I wonder what would have happened had I backed into a guest or part of the hotel while I was parking my truck, would that have been their liability? Doubtful. So instead of doing the right thing and refunding my measly (to Hilton) $59, they get this review. I won't stay there again and I'd recommend you don't either. Lots of other options (that are not right next door to a strip club).

The service people are great but the building is a human rights violation. The windows in the rooms don’t open and the HVAC system does not have a continuous fan setting to keep fresh air flowing. Human beings need constant fresh air and oxygen flow for healthy neurological functioning. Oxygen deprivation causes brain damage.

Rooms are small but modern. Staff is nice. Full restaurant and bar. Yummy breakfast. Rooms are smaller. But high ceilings, clean. Old trade school converted. Really neat design features. Across the street from the convention center. Walkable. May need to pay for vallet parking. They have none. Or on the street. Decent place. No major issues 👌🏼. Clean and friendly
