“They didn’t give us a key for the room because the system wasn’t working. When I entered the room there was a used tissue on the couch. The TV only showed one channel — even if you selected another one, it automatically went back to the same one. I couldn’t connect to the internet. I tried to charge my phone and suddenly it stopped charging. I went to have breakfast and there were no eggs; the waffle machine was completely dirty and full of grease. When I tried to tell all this to the receptionist, she had a very sarcastic attitude. And this is my first day. I tried to get a refund, but she said I have to contact Trivago, the company where I made the reservation. I want to go to another hotel.”

We belong to the Hilton rewards program, so we will usually book one of their hotels if available so that we can collect points. In this case, the points earned were just not worth it. The room itself was decent, but the hotel itself had maintenance issues, and finding someone at the front desk was almost impossible (we waited 10 minutes when we arrived for someone to check us in, and never saw anyone at the desk for the rest of the trip).
Within the hotel, it looked like they had a water leak in the ceiling by the washer and dryer, so the ceiling was torn out, the washer and dryer were not available, and there were cleaning/maintenance supplies sitting in the hall as if someone just stopped in the middle of the job and left. Additionally, there was a note in the dining area at breakfast that their oven was broken, so there was no hot breakfast.
Coupled with the fact that the hotel is at the far end of town, away from any of the tourist activities, and it just was not a great option for hanging out in Canyon City.

Where to start…this place is gross! When I checked in it took 4 rooms before I got one that was clean. They kept giving me new keys and sending me to a new room and each time it was a room not cleaned and beds not made from the night before. They finally had to get a master key and physically go find a room that had beds made inside. Not sure if the hotel was closed, shut down, or just seriously lacking. They could not check people in and they could not make reservations for people. They said their computers were down. The only reason I got in was because I made a reservation a month ago and had a digital key. I should have realized something was way wrong at that point. There were only three cars in the entire parking lot.
There was no hot breakfast because they said their ovens were broken. The hot tub was broken so we could not use that. There was no hot coffee in the lobby, they said it’s only available at 6:30am in the morning. I could not find any soap or shampoo in my room. No Kleenex in my room. The room we ended up in didn’t have working outlets or charging ports, no power to them at all. The furniture was very dirty, full of stains, worn and out dated. No toilet paper in the lobby restrooms.
Something is way off with this hotel. Definitely stay away from here. Horrible experience. This is certainly not up to par with any other Hampton Inn I’ve stayed at and I stay at them weekly. This is a subpar retro Quality Inn at best.

My room was missing the fire alarm and the fridge. I was very shocked the fire alarm was missing! But I figured it was 1 night. The rooms were clean but wall paper was peeling. The towels still had the tags from the store attached. The shower looked gross, so I skipped using it after seeing the towels. The work out room only had 1 working machine. The wifi didn't work, and when I asked the front desk for wifi, the lady was rude but gave me a code. In addition, when I checked in, they were acting odd and kept saying "the room is clean but the maid can't make the bed". Then they didn't check me in right so I lost my earned ponts since it said I never showed up. I sent an email to management but they never contacted me. When I called for a receipt, no one answered for many days. I finally got ahold of someone(after talking to corporate too). The desk clerk I talked with was actually very nice and apologetic but did state the hotel was horrible. I would never stay here again!

The young lady that checked me in was very nice and pleasant. When I arrived at my room, it appeared to have “throw pillows” instead of king size pillows for a king bed. I woke up with severe neck pains.
The refrigerator in the room does not cool. I had to throw away my perishables. The next morning, around 7am , I went to their continental breakfast, and it appeared that they used the oatmeal from yesterday to serve.
I asked for a new room, only to arrive and the shower door is off track, leaning in the shower area.
The following morning, the oatmeal was a lot better.
Overall, I was not pleased with my stay. My 1st time at a Hampton Inn. It was not a good experience
