  It really is a beautiful hotel and has great amenities specifically within wellness. The cleaning lady Lulu was so accommodating and always checked in on us while we were there. The wellness room was infront of the wellness club but there’s no sign so we didn’t know it was there. We booked a private session for the red light therapy but no one showed up for about 30 minutes we ended up cancelling. The room was next to housekeeping so there was constant noise throughout the whole night. Double check on your rooms location. The service could’ve been a lot better but overall we loved the concept it just wasn’t executed for the wellness hotel room.

  Beautiful hotel — if you only care about how things look on Instagram. My first room had absolutely no sunlight. At 2 PM, it still felt like living in a designer cave. We decided to pay extra to upgrade to a “Deluxe Suite,” which, spoiler alert, turned out to be just a slightly bigger king room with sunlight as the only upgrade. No bathtub (you can pay extra to use their spa pods though 🤡), one tiny sink, a slow old toilet, and a mysterious drain smell that made me rethink basic hygiene. The room’s soundproofing was so bad we got a free sample of the city nightlife every night. Service? The front desk was genuinely polite. Everyone else seemed... elsewhere. The bellmen were more invested in their own conversations than in luggage, and some random person with a notebook knocked on our door to “check” when we were leaving — despite our confirmed 4 PM late checkout. No apology, no intro, just vibes. This hotel is gorgeous in photos but exhausting in real life. A+ for aesthetics, D- for actually being a place to stay.

  My recent stay at the Proper Hotel in Santa Monica was nothing short of exceptional. The property itself is stunning—beautifully designed with a warm, relaxed atmosphere that perfectly fits the Santa Monica vibe. A special shoutout to the rooftop team for making the experience unforgettable. Juan and Brandon, the rooftop managers, went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect throughout our visit. Their professionalism and genuine hospitality really stood out. And Pablo, the bartender, deserves special mention—his cocktails were incredible, and his friendly, upbeat personality made every visit to the bar a highlight. From start to finish, the service, ambiance, and attention to detail were top-notch. I can’t recommend the Proper Santa Monica enough and will definitely be returning soon.

  Santa Monica Proper Hotel is absolutely beautiful! From the stunningly designed rooms to the professional service and prompt check-in, everything about this hotel exceeded our expectations. The rooftop pool is a highlight—it's gorgeous and the perfect place to relax. The food and cocktails served poolside were delicious and beautifully presented. The entire property exudes thoughtful design and attention to detail, and the staff's professionalism made our stay seamless and enjoyable from start to finish. If you're looking for a sophisticated, well-run hotel in Santa Monica with stunning amenities and excellent service, Santa Monica Proper is an outstanding choice!

  I recently had the pleasure of planning a wedding at the Santa Monica Proper Hotel and it was such an Amazing experience from start to finish. As a wedding & events planner, I work with a variety of event venues, and I can honestly say that few bring the same high-quality level of service and support that the Santa Monica Proper team provided. Justine made the whole planning process leading up to the big day so easy with her clear and consistent communication. On the wedding day, Justine, Zee, Melina, and the rest of the events team were all so wonderful and such a well-oiled machine offering such top-tier support to help my team and I pull off a smooth, efficient, and stress-free wedding day for our couple and all their guests. Not only were they all true professionals, they're all so pleasant, kind, and brought such great energy to the wedding day.
