    We stayed at the Oceana Hotel in Santa Monica last month for my partner’s birthday staycation, and it was nothing short of wonderful. We booked an ocean view suite, and the view was absolutely breathtaking. While we did have a small hiccup (we got briefly stuck in the elevator), the way the team handled it turned what could have been stressful into a memory we now laugh about. They went above and beyond to look after us, and their genuine care really stood out. The pool is as charming as it looks in photos and perfect for lounging. The food was exceptional as well, some of the freshest produce we’ve ever had at a hotel. From room service to poolside dining, everything felt thoughtful and high quality. A special thanks to Kezai Jones, the Director of Front of House, who made sure every detail of our stay was smooth and celebratory. We’d also like to recognize Erick at the front desk and the amazing pool and room service staff who were warm, attentive, and professional. The housekeeping and cleanliness was A+ as well. My partner’s birthday celebration couldn’t have been more memorable, and we’re so grateful to the team at Oceana for making it so special. We would absolutely return and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for luxury, comfort, and truly outstanding service in Santa Monica.

    Perhaps one of my favorite hotels in the USA. The vibe is laid back and relaxed. The pool in the center of the courtyard is relaxing and serene. It almost makes you think you’re in the Mediterranean. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the staff is wonderful. Short walk to the Santa Monica Pier.

    We had a wonderful stay at the LXR Santa Monica. Service is top-notch: attentive, friendly, ever present but unobtrusive. Head Bellman Lenny always knew what we wanted without being asked. His local knowledge guided us on our daily adventures. The hotel is a nice size - it has everything you need, including Peloton bikes and treadmills, but is intimate enough that the staff know you by name. Our room had a great ocean view and large sitting room. We’ll be back next year.

    Oceana does not meet the standards of a 5-star hotel. Pros: 10 minutes' walk to Santa Monica Beach; soft bed linens; beautiful bathroom design (quartz/stone); spacious closet; all furniture is nice. Cons: toiletries are of poor quality; very noisy when sleeping in the room: you can hear people walking upstairs, dragging chairs, talking from the swimming pool, cars passing by, cars opening and closing doors, and water running from the wall when the shower is on. I didn't vibe with the manager lady’s attitude; she seemed pretentious to me. Overall, it feels more like a beach inn than a 5-star hotel.
