- LLLaureen LoberDec 30, 20251.0WARNING: CARPET BEETLES, INSECTS, AND MOLD I pre-paid $889 through Hilton Honors for a five-night stay (Nov. 2–6, 2025) at the Embassy Suites by Hilton, San Rafael, CA, but left after one night due to unacceptable conditions—multiple rooms with carpet beetle larvae, other insects, and one with visible mold.Upon arrival, my first room had not been cleaned after a prior guest (unmade bed, wet towels, leftover food). After waiting hours for a new room, I discovered a live carpet beetle larva that night. The front desk manager was sympathetic and arranged pest control, but subsequent rooms also contained dead insects, larvae casings, and mold. The supervisor then refused to show additional rooms, citing “policy.”Housekeeping was poor throughout (dirty hallways and food trays left overnight). The hotel refused a refund or checkout receipt despite my early departure. Hilton Honors customer service initially acknowledged my claim and assured me of a refund, but later denied evidence of any infestation and closed the case, offering only a $45 credit and 15,000 points.Nearly two months later, the issue remains unresolved. I will make one final attempt to address this directly with the hotel’s General Manager.
- HSHarald S.Dec 29, 20253.0Wir waren seit 2009 anlässlich des Besuchs von Verwandten schon mehrmals in diesem Hotel jeweils 2 Zimmer, jedoch erst einmal nach der Renovierung. Eigentlich mögen wir das Hotel sehr gern, Lage, genügend Parkplätze, gutes Frühstück und Abendessen sowie sehr netter Service. Wir haben auch den Swimmingpool sehr gerne genutzt, direkt morgens nach dem Öffnen, alles sauber und kaum andere Gäste. Was wir allerdings nicht verstehen können, wie es sein kann, dass nach der Renovierung schon wieder einige Sitzmöbel in der Bar und darum herum, fleckig sind, die Klimaanlagen immer noch so laut sind. Auch in den „renovierten“ Zimmern darf man nirgendwo genau hinschauen. Es wäre wünschenswert, wenn das Management mal mit einer Checkliste durch das Hotel geht und eine Grundreinigung durchgeführt wird. Auch die Klimaanlage sollte dringend erneuert werden. Ansonsten wünschen wir dem Hotel weiterhin Erfolg, da wir immer gerne dort waren und demnächst auch wieder kommen wollen.

Ice is on fourth floor laundry is on fifth. Laundry takes quarters and detergent can be purchased at front desk(one washer one dryer funny smell) Gym includes a singular bench with dumbbells up to 65, one row machine, 4 ellipticals, 5 treadmills, and one smith machine. Evening reception at the bar starts at 5 If you’re a guest you get two drinks complimentary from 5-6:30. 4/5 star experience for sure! A little far from food so you may need to call delivery. Red oak is located behind the bar (a bit pricy)

The dust was concentrated right next to the bed, which made it even worse.
