Stayed 2 + 5 nights here as it’s convenient. The first two nights was alright but the room came with a bathtub which was dangerous to bathe my child. So for the separate 5 nights, I have requested for a room with shower. The guy who checked me in didnt bother and gave me a room with bathtub again. Went back to the front desk and I’m so lucky to have Julia there. She made the effort to look through the hotel map to find a double queen bed room with shower. She even brought me to check the room out. Impeccable service! If the hotel management is reading this review, Julia deserves a raise! There’s front desk guy who was really friendly to my child, didn’t catch his name but he’s the one with curly hair. Julia and this front desk guy made our stay a wonderful one.

Stayed here for one night for business. Room was clean and the staff were friendly. The hotel is near Union Square and near BART at Powell St and other public transport. It is a little further away from the main sights along the waterfront. For me however the proximity to a BART station were key in the decision.
Downsides were:
- shower was barely lukewarm
- the toilet roll holder was not fixed to the wall and dropped off
- parking needs to be done in a nearby public parking (325 Mason St., 38USD/24 hrs)
- bit far away from the waterfront

I stayed here for 3 nights as a staycation for my mom while I visited from out of state. I paid about $170 a night for this hotel, and I feel like I got what I paid for. This hotel is old which I knew going in. I really liked the convenience to the BART and Muni. If you don't have a car, this is a great location for convenience with public transportation and walking to some major areas in the city. Staff were okay. Some front desk agents need a brush up on customer service training. Lance was the only one who smiled, so thank you for setting an example for your coworkers. I did not utilize the bar or breakfast, but the free water and coffee in the lobby was all we needed. The elevators are really small; only 4 people with no bags can fit. We had a corner room by the elevators which was surprisingly quiet. We did not hear the ice machine or the elevators. Since it was not a street facing room and faced a brick wall, it was quiet. Other guests were complaining about the loudness of the street. The room was spacious but the bathroom was tiny. Not enough room to change in the bathroom. The shower took 10 minutes to heat up and when it did, it was scalding. The pictures on the Hilton app showed much larger bathrooms, but maybe that isn't for 2 Queen beds rooms. The pillows were really thin, so they were not comfortable in my opinion. There was no mini fridge or microwave in the room, so that was disappointing. Overall, it was an okay stay. It worked for just sleep. I would probably stay again if I ever need to stay in a hotel in SF again.

Terrible soundproofing — couldn’t sleep at all. MAX 2 star hotel
For a Hilton, this was a huge letdown. The walls are so thin you can hear everything — people talking, TVs, even phone notifications from the next room. It honestly felt like there were no walls at all. I barely got any sleep the entire stay because of constant noise.
The staff didn’t seem to care when I mentioned it — they were dismissive and borderline rude. The room also had a strange, musty smell that made things worse.
I usually trust Hilton for comfort and quiet, but this property completely missed the mark. Unless they fix the soundproofing and train their staff better, I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

Not sure if you can get something better around for a similar price point. It works, and was sufficient, but a number of points to note:
- There is no parking offered as most reviewers have mentioned. The nearest one they recommend is at 325 mason street ($38/night), and the parking security there seems ok. Just don’t leave things overnight in your car obviously, and don’t lose your parking ticket.
- The hotel’s entrance is not along the main road, so even if you get a street parking / you get a taxi drop off, you’d still need to carry your baggages a short distance in. If you have a luggage that’s obviously ok, but if you have 4 duffel bags with pets / kids then maybe not.
- The room seems old, and just a function of things aging - The shower was not warm / hot, it was cold and after getting an engineer down it became warm so that’s ok. The lights flicker which was abit annoying. The fan does get turned on by itself some times, also annoying. AC is loud but does not bother us. Bathroom needs an upgrade, tiles on the floor are broken with pieces still coming out.
- There is no grass / pet relief area nearby, your best bet would be a 5 minute walk diagonal to the hotel. Not an issue but just something to note.
- They have a fridge, but no water kettle or microwave which you need to access downstairs in the main lobby.
Otherwise, hotel staff was really nice and friendly, so that’s probably the main plus for us.
