I made a reservation 12 months in advance that did not require a deposit at the time and had cancellation up until a few days prior. I checked my credit card and found that they decided to charge me for the full stay about 6 weeks beforehand. When I called to ask what the charge was about I was told that they overbooked and needed to secure the reservation. Sounds like their problem but ok so I asked why nobody reached out beforehand and let me tell you I could not have been treated worse by an Angela at the front desk. I was told there is no manager working today either. I am a gold member and travel frequently and wouldn't have taken time out of my day to write this review if it wasn’t for her. If you mess up then it's on you, the terms of my reservation did not require a full prepayment and surely did not authorize a charge without my knowledge because you are overbooked.

Small rooms, but otherwise a great hotel. The location is really convenient for getting around downtown with easy access to public transportation. The breakfast was satisfying and saved time and money. Didn't need to park or use the gym, so no opinions there. The rooftop has a spectacular view of the city. Don't let the bad reviews fool you, this is a great find. Yes, the unhoused population is pretty prominent in the area, but I never felt unsafe during my stay, and we went out at night frequently

Horrendous! Hotel management is atrocious. So bad it’s almost surreal— Completely discourteous, rude, lacking any sort of social skills and completely inept at running a hotel. They looked like they just rolled out of bed, dressed in grubby clothes while what seemed to be their children were climbing all over the furniture in the lobby. I’m not sure why Hilton would intrust their property to people that have very clearly never had a day of hotel management training. Rooms are just okay. Internet does not work! Zero cellphone service in room and lobby. Pillows reek of sweat. Be it business or leisure, if you want a nice San Francisco experience do not stay at this hotel!

Place was bad, there was a hidden 400$ authorization fee i had to pay. There was also a city wide power outage, and thankfully the lights came back on but the water the rest of the trip was cold, so we had to take cold showers, and overall i was pretty dreaded from this experience with this hotel
