New hotel, located in Downtown Riverside. The Fox theater, and Main st were 2 blocks away. The food lab was one block over. WARNING: It is a very clean, nice hotel/apartment for people. I say apartment because there are families living there. I did not know this when I booked. I’m not to sure how I felt about that. I went down for breakfast and saw several families with their kids getting breakfast, with their backpacks, and after school. They all knew each other. They were there everyday I was there and I stayed 5 days, including the weekend. I think it should be noted in your reservation. You do have to have a key to access any floor. There was a girl letting her friend on the elevator who just visited her, who smelt like she just hotboxed herself in the room. My kids were in the elevator with me and she literally made us all cough. Keep in mind they are still doing construction. Parking was a bit tricky. Street parking is almost non existence. I did see cars getting towed in front of the hotel. They do offer valet, but at $29 a day. There is a parking structure attached to the Fox theater, but I didn’t feel safe parking there and walking alone 2 1/2 blocks on back streets. The pool is not completed, as well as the outside patio. The room was a good size for our family. Kitchenette and full fridge were very helpful. The rooms are not being cleaned very well. The shower was already turning pinkish from not being cleaned. There was also no ventilation in that room or bathroom. I read on another review that you could hear doors slamming all night and day, this is true. They have a gym, washer and dryer, as well as free breakfast. One of the better free breakfasts we’ve ever had. Lots to choose from.

I stayed here on Saturday with my two sons while dropping off their older brother at UCR for starting college. There are amazing things about this hotel and they are the following: very clean rooms that smell amazing, the softest sheets I've ever slept in, and the best toiletries in the bathroom. There are many bad things about this hotel too and they are the following: super loud slamming doors for all bathrooms and rooms so all you hear is slamming all day/night, valet that is hit and miss and you feel held hostage waiting for your vehicle to just leave the property, front desk MIA for long periods of time, AC is very weak in the rooms and doesn't actually cool down to temperature you select on thermostat. We were on the phone earlier in the morning told we could arrive an hour early, at 2 PM, to check in early. When we arrived at 2 PM, we were told that no rooms are ready and we have to sit and wait. We waited almost 35 minutes for a room. I would have just found something to do until 3 PM instead of lugging my kids inside to sit in a lobby with all of our belongings and wait until "normal" check-in time. Anyway, the reason I am leaving 1 star is that, upon our departure, we were kept there for upwards of 40 minutes waiting for someone to appear at the front desk and also for valet to be called so we could retrieve our car. I texted and called the valet number given to me about 15 minutes prior to our checkout (as I was told to do). I get downstairs and there's no one at the front desk, but there's a bell which I'm supposed to ring for service. I rang it about 10x over the course of 30 minutes and no one came. I called the valet again and the PHONE STARTS RINGING AT THE UNMANNED KIOSK AT THE FRONT DOOR. Okay great, so we cannot leave and the valet is never going to get my request for my car. Another guest arrives to check-in and I inform her that everyone is missing, so then they too begin waiting at the front desk. I finally think maybe I will knock on the "team member" door behind the front desk, and when I do, a woman appears instantly. She asks me if I rang the bell...I tell her I rang it many times. She says "oh, sorry my bad" and does not offer me any explanation or offer to expedite our departure. It is all ironic at this juncture as there's a sign on the wall that says something along the lines of "if your stay isn't great, the night is on us"...yet she doesn't say anything to address my issue with the customer service I am receiving or the delays. I tell her that we need valet and they're missing. She says she will just "call someone from the other side" to come help me. That takes forever--and when they show up, they need my ticket number and to retrieve our keys to go get our car. He proceeds to drive the new guest's car into the garage to stow it away before retrieving our car--so we are just waiting and waiting and waiting at this point. By the end of all of this, we are hitting the road back to Sacramento 40 minutes later than planned because the hotel is not properly staffed and has poor service. To add insult to injury, I receive a call about 30 minutes into our drive home and it is the valet guy. I do not answer because I'm so mad at this point. He texts saying he just received my message and did someone help me already. Seriously? NOT A QUICK CHECK-OUT PROCESS AT THIS HOTEL. It was upsetting to say the least. I don't recommend this hotel for anyone who needs to get anywhere with a sense of urgency.
