We stayed at Homewood Suites by Hilton – Palm Desert from 9 to 11 January, and it was one of the worst stays we have ever had.
🔌 Total power failure
As soon as we arrived, there was a power failure throughout the hotel for over two and a half hours.
No solution, no valid excuse, no compensation.
The manager simply said that it wasn't their fault, so in their opinion, no compensation was necessary.
This is totally unacceptable for a hotel of this standard.
🛏️ Unacceptable cleanliness: hair in the bed
When we arrived in the room, there was hair in the bed.
Clearly, the bed had not been properly cleaned, which is a huge hygiene issue.
Sleeping in a dirty bed in a hotel that costs over £300 a night is simply unacceptable.
🧺 Laundry: £16 stolen
We used the washing machines:
• One machine worked
• The second one didn't work but we were still charged £16
Despite reporting this to reception, they refused to refund us, with a dismissive and contemptuous attitude.
Once again: "It's not our problem."
It's outrageous.
🧹 No cleaning service
During the two nights, no cleaning, no towel changes, no service.
The manager's response?
👉 "The cleaning service is every other day."
So we paid for a very expensive room with no cleaning, no proper cleanliness, and no basic service.
👉 In summary:
• Power outage lasting more than 2.5 hours
• Dirty bed with hair on it
• $16 charged for a faulty machine, not refunded
• No cleaning service during the entire stay
• No commercial gesture
• Cold, unpleasant and irresponsible management
This stay gives the impression that the customer is of absolutely no importance.
This is not at all the standard expected of a Homewood Suites by Hilton.
We strongly advise against this hotel.
A shameful experience, unworthy of the Hilton brand !!!!!!

Overall NOT worth the money. Filthy curtains and carpets, found a big brown mark on the toilet seats. Good sides are complementary breakfast with a good variety of stuffs, free parking, and not far from south entrance of Joshua Tree.

This place keeps charging more and getting worse. They've increased their prices by 1/5 in the last few months, they're cutting in half the amount of rewards points you get for staying there, and they've changed out their traditional quarter laundry machines for fewer machines that now requires an app that you have to preload with a minimum of $10 to use (and the machines cost about double the old ones). The rooms aren't very well sound-proofed and there's a 50 percent chance it will have a 32 inch 15 year old TV with a remote that doesn't even have a button to change the source. The breakfast is consistently bad with not much of a selection (not even a waffle iron to be found) and housekeeping will sometimes leave you with fewer towels than you had and other times leave your door unlocked if you get a room where it doesn't fully close when left to shut on its own.

The hotel is in a great location and comes with a full hot breakfast daily. I have it 3 stars because it is truly a 3 star hotel. Front desk staff was ehhh. Service was nothing to brag about. The room was spacious, however we had no working phone, my husband told front desk they said someone would come by to fix it. They did not. But the housekeeping here is questionable. They came in the room, replaced some towels took some trash and left. Didn't clean anything or make any bed. It was odd. Why even come in if you plan to do a half way job. That was strange to both of us.

Love this hotel pretty rooms quiet on 3rd floor stay away from the 1st floor slamming doors they are like a explosion. Great park next door for dogs pool is small but clean hot tub fitness and great food in area 20 minutes from palm springs. Free breakfast the windows also open which I love to get air. Loud street in back is the only negative here.
