The staff is very nice here. As for the hotel, it's incredibly dated - furniture is old and run down, elevators are old, TV is very old, even the bedding and towels are old and worn. Half the time there's no hot water - I saw another review mention they called and had a system to fix that but it's very ridiculous to even have to do that as they should expect guests want hot water on demand, not on request. (Editing to add that I called and they have a broken pipe with no ETA on repair, so we left). This hotel needs some serious updates but until then, would recommend staying elsewhere.

We had a really comfortable stay here at the Hilton Garden Inn Oxnard/Camarillo. The bed was comfortable and the hotel was quiet during our stay. The front desk staff told us that just 22 out of 170 or so rooms were occupied during our stay.
The only issue we had was that there was no hot water on one of the days we were there, even after running the water for 20 minutes. The front desk staff told us that when the hotel has low occupancy, it takes a very long time for the hot water to travel through the pipes and that this was probably the reason for the lack of hot water. However, the front desk that that they were able to fix this by opening additional hot water valves. Once they did that, the issue quickly resolved. So, if you encounter this issue, definitely reach out to the front desk so that they can help you.
The hotel serves breakfast, but if you’re looking for some variety, Cafe Amri nearby was excellent and within walking distance. The complimentary coffee and ice water in the lobby of the hotel was a nice touch.
If you are attending an event at the Adagio Bella Gardens Banquet and Reception Hall, which is an extension of the Hilton Garden Inn, staying at the Garden Inn is definitely very convenient, though the Homewood Suites is an equally convenient option.

Fitness center is supposedly "out of service" and not mentioned on the website. Apparently its been out of service for a while. They give you a guest pass to a gym around the corner that has terrible reviews from people trying to use a guest pass.

Diamond member here. Mid-tier property at best. Some of the people are decent, but the hotel is extremely dated, poorly maintained, and poorly designed. Furniture in room extremely limited as well. Only reason for not giving one star is for the staff that handles breakfast, they do good.
The bed frames are significantly larger than the beds and blend in with the carpet, so everyone bangs their knees and shins and luggage against them constantly.
The towel storage in each of the rooms is IN THE SHOWER. Not the bathroom, but on metal racks inside the shower. Put the things that make you dry into the place that makes you wet, real smart.
Also the night shift front desk guy is constantly falling asleep and does not answer the phone.
They do keep it fairly clean and its not horrible, so not one star. That said, you can do better Hilton.

I’m a regular guest at the Hilton Garden Inn Oxnard, and every stay reinforces why I keep coming back. This hotel truly stands out because of its outstanding staff – they’re not just friendly, they genuinely take the time to get to know their guests. It means so much to walk in and be greeted by name. Imelda at the registration desk is always so welcoming and makes check-in a pleasure.
The restaurant staff deserves special recognition. They’re always welcoming with warm smiles, and the service is consistently prompt without ever feeling rushed. The food is absolutely delicious – I look forward to my meals there every visit. The grilled salmon is my personal favorite and never disappoints. And don’t miss their happy hour from 5-6:30 PM – they have a few different food options and drink specials.
Muhammad, the manager, creates such a positive and welcoming atmosphere that you can feel throughout the hotel. Everyone seems genuinely happy to be there and to help guests have a wonderful experience.
This has truly become my home away from home.
