  Great location. Walking distance to wonderful restaurants, the beach, and breweries. The next time I come back I’m def going to ask to be upstairs. First floor is noisy. I can hear everyone at the restaurant/lobby/ TV lounge area in the lobby side. The sound echos down the corridor and you can hear people walking above you as well. After 10PM-11PM is when the noise starts going down but I def didn’t get proper sleep. Only come here if you going out and about, not to relax or be romantic, if that’s the case stay at a proper hotel with thicker walls and ceilings. I’ll def come back. It did the job.

  Excellent location, right by the pier, but not by the crowds. Close to multiple coffee shops, and eateries.

  Sound proofing in the rooms was very bad, street noise was not dampened at all, and could easily hear conversations from the next room. Got woken up at 6 am by neighbor sliding chair around and slamming dresser drawers Room was clean, a little small, but cozy enough. Nice shower. Didn't really get to explore Oceanside much as this was a business trip. The restaurant/bar I found to be extremely good quality and great value. That is why the review is 4 and not 3 stars. The parking lot in the alley is quite cramped, and once it's even half full, or there are large trucks/SUVs, I think it's difficult to park your vehicle there (I was driving a full size sedan rental). Fortunately there is an additional lot down the street where mere mortals can manage to park.

  This is a quaint hotel a few short blocks from Oceanside CA pier. The main thing i like is the location. Rooms are very small. Restaurant not great unless you're like me & order steak & eggs. 💲💲💲💲💲in California you can't worry about the prices! I paid $4 for a bottle of Canada dry diet ginger ale. Restaurants around Finns are ok. Just ok. The pier is so beautiful that ill take ok Restaurants & a smaller room to have the pier within walking distance. Souvenir shopping is good here! I still give Finn's 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

The boutique décor and attention to detail struck the perfect balance between stylish and comfortable. My room featured a mini-fridge, a Keurig coffee maker, two plush robes, and a shampoo/body-wash scent that brought memories of one of my favourite spas—such a lovely touch. (The rooms are centrally located, giving you that local downtown Oceanside feel while remaining surprisingly peaceful.) ([expedia][1]) Stepping into Little Fawn (located right in the hotel) for breakfast was equally delightful. The café/bar is elegant yet relaxed—ideal for solo downtime or a quiet catch-up. I indulged in the croissant breakfast sandwich paired with the garlic-Parmesan fries and a garlic-mayo dip (truly outstanding). The staff member Amy was warm, accommodating, and genuinely listened to my stories about Vegas—small moments like this made the experience feel personal and special. The café’s brunch hours (8:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.) and dinner service starting at 5:00 p.m. make it flexible for various moods. ([OpenTable][2]) One of the highlights for me: arriving as a diamond member and discovering a complimentary snack box awaiting me in the room—popcorn, a protein bar, nuts, chocolates, cookies—it was such a thoughtful gesture and really reinforced that guest experience truly matters here. The front-desk team, especially Sarah, consistently carried such kindness, professionalism, and genuine hospitality. Location wise, The Fin sits just two blocks from the pier and is enveloped by the vibrant tapestry of downtown Oceanside—cars and people, bars and antique stores, foodie spots and local charm. I spent one afternoon wandering to the pier, grabbing a cigar at nearby Cigar Grotto and simply surf-watching from the break—then returned to the ease and comfort of the hotel, poured a drink, and enjoyed some football with Netflix on the Smart TV in my room. Lastly, parking is secure and convenient behind the hotel through a gated alley, which is a major bonus in a downtown location. If you’re a couple or solo traveller looking for a refreshing North County Oceanside escape—where you can stay perfectly in the mix of local energy yet retreat into calm and comfort—I can’t recommend The Fin Hotel (and Little Fawn) enough. This is a place that understands experiential detail and knows how to deliver. ---
