  We recently celebrated our wedding anniversary at Balboa Bay Resort. We stayed 4 days / 3 nights and wish we could have stayed longer! The Balboa Bay Resort sits directly on Balboa Bay and we opted for a room with a view of the bay & the many yachts that take up residence on the slips along the bay. We’re glad we did. From morning sunrises to evening sunsets to star-filled nighttime skies, the changing light conditions offered a kaleidoscope of beautiful vistas. If it’s within your budget, the bay view rooms are worth the price. The Balboa Bay Resort property is meticulously cleaned & polished. As a business traveler for many years, I’ve had the good fortune of staying at many 4-Star hotels and resorts. None of them come close to maintaining a cleaned & polished look like The Balboa Bay resort does. No dirt, dust or smudges anywhere. Hats off to the maintenance crew! The front desk staff greeted us by name at every encounter. Always smiling and offering assistance with anything we wanted or needed. They made sure that our anniversary celebration was a truly memorable event. A special thank you to the front desk manager Jack & his amazing staff. We dined several times at the in-house restaurant A+O. We usually shy away from hotel & resort restaurants, as the quality of the ingredients & the selection of entrees do not rise to the level of local standalone restaurants. That was not the case with A+O. We were pleasantly surprised by the variety of dishes offered and the freshness of the ingredients. Our server each night, just by chance, was Jose. He knows how to please a customer. His service was impeccable. Kudos to Jose & the A+O chefs for excelling at their craft. We used the overnight valet parking service during our stay. While I generally use self-parking at hotels & resorts, the additional fee seemed reasonable and I’m glad we opted for valet parking. These ladies & gentlemen are fast, courteous & professional. And if you have a question about the local area, they have the answer. By the time our stay was over, we felt like they were old friends. If you’re planning a visit to the Huntington Beach, Newport Beach or Laguna Beach area, you definitely want to consider The Balboa Bay Resort. We’ll be back! A+ 5 Stars!

  This is truly a 5 star hotel and resort. All of the staff (without exception) were amazing and accommodating. The property is kept fresh, clean and up to date. My wife and I felt like the price we paid was reflective of the 5 star experience. If you want clean rooms and a clean resort, and a full staff to assist you in the New Port Beach area of California, then pay the price to stay at the Balboa Bay Resort.

  The hotel is first class all the way. The staff was helpful and professional. The views are stunning and the newly renovated fitness center was the cherry on top. Highly recommend for a quick getaway, bleisure or for a corporate retreat/board meeting!

  I’ve stayed at the Balboa Resort many times. I really like this place usually. But my girlfriend and I stayed there on my Birthday last week and we’re not happy. We got in real late and when we checked in my girlfriend asked for a surprise to be brought up to the room. Which was supposed to be @9pm being we got in around 8:15. They were going to bring stuff up to the room and never did. The room we received was right next to the main road and there was lots of traffic noise from cars. And then next morning my lady called to have what was told to be delivered the night before to be brought up and we couldn’t get a hold of anyone at front desk. This is when we were getting irritated. We called maybe 5/6 times and no one would answer front desk. My girlfriend finally called on her cell phone and they immediately picked up. What took hours to be brought up as a surprise for my birthday took over 10 calls stating the night before and into the morning. Overall I usually really like this spot but will not be going back after my last experience.

  Staffing was superb. We enjoyed interacting with them. The housekeeping staff and food service were top notch. All pleasant, ready and willing to provide high levels of service. Many kudos to the housekeeping staff for finding and turning in Mrs. H’s cell phone. What a disaster that would have been had her phone not been turned in. We were ecstatic to receive the call from your security team indicating our phone was located and turned in. That is a testament to their level of employees, and employee screening and hiring practices. Whether dining in, or staying overnight to watch the boat parade, one cannot beat the views from thier facility when looking out across the bay. Thier valet Jackson was a superb ambassador while greeting us upon our arrival. Jackson was pleasant, attentive and engaged when chatting with us about our needs.
