It’s a very well-run property, and it shows in so many ways. Cleanliness is clearly a priority throughout, and the staff are genuinely personable. I had an extended stay while working in the area and was pleasantly surprised by the kindness and compassion shown by several employees.
From Joanna, Sofia, and Ben at the front desk, to Michael at valet, and even the housekeepers who cared for my room; everyone was consistently kind, attentive, and detail-oriented. At a time when it often feels like customer service is fading, this team truly provided a wonderful experience from start to finish.
Very clean. Nice desk staff, bar staff was meh but the food was good. Nice size room. The shower head should be changed to a handheld especially since the pressure is not great. The ac kept blowing even when I turned it off so I contacted the front desk and they had an engineer come turn it off manually which I was very grateful for. Comfortable bed but the pillows are the kind that disappear once you lay your head down. The cabinet door to the space that houses the mini fridge was sagging, just something I noticed. Good blow dryer. I experienced this at another LA hotel but the carpets in the hallways make it hard to roll a suitcase, weird they wouldn't pay more attention to that. I did not use the gym or pool during my one night stay. They have free standard wifi and fast wifi for $10/day. And there's HBOmax access. I did not park but noticed how expensive it is! I'm not sure I would return.
Our stay at the Hilton Culver City was deeply disappointing and clearly below the standards one expects from the Hilton brand.
The air conditioning unit was malfunctioning, stuck at maximum output. The airflow was so intense that it moved the curtains and blew directly onto the face of the person sleeping next to the window, making it impossible to rest. Turning it off was not a viable solution, as the hotel’s proximity to a nearby highway exposed us to constant and excessive traffic noise throughout the night. As a result, we barely slept.
Cleanliness was also an issue. The room was not properly maintained, and the shower showed visible mold, something that is unacceptable in a hotel of this category.
The most unacceptable part of the experience occurred the following morning at the front desk. When we raised our concerns, the staff member repeatedly stated — at least four times — that I did not know how to use the thermostat, effectively placing the blame on the guest rather than acknowledging or investigating a clear technical failure. This response was dismissive, unprofessional, and contrary to basic standards of customer service.
Additionally, we were charged 50 USD for valet parking, which was the only option available, further adding to an already unsatisfactory stay.
Overall, this experience fell well short of the quality, professionalism, and respect for guests that Hilton claims to represent. It is difficult to reconcile this stay with the reputation of the brand.
Do not believe the bots!!!
Oh, and I paid 633 for three nights, HH special rate!!!
I would strongly advise looking elsewhere if you are planning a trip to this area. Our experience was defined by constant "nickel-and-diming" and a staff that only seemed interested in us if we were handing over extra cash.
The Parking Nightmare
The parking situation is a disaster. The only option offered by the hotel is valet parking at an outrageous $53 per night. Because that price is so exploitative, we were forced to find street parking across the road at Arizona Cir.
The valet staff was incredibly rude. Once they realized we weren't paying for their service, they became completely unhelpful. They wouldn't even assist with luggage or offer a hand while I was dropping off and picking up my family at the entrance. If you aren't paying their premium fee, you are invisible to them.
Poor Value & Hidden Costs
Don't let the "breakfast included" tag fool you. The breakfast buffet was extremely disappointing with very limited options. It felt intentionally sparse just to pressure guests into ordering expensive items from the separate a la carte menu.
Even the basic amenities in the room are a trap. The small bottles of water provided in the room aren't complimentary—they charge you for those, too.
Final Verdict
The management here is focused entirely on squeezing every possible cent out of their guests. Even after paying for the room and breakfast, you are constantly pressured to spend more. It’s a greedy environment with poor service to match. Be prepared to pay way more than your booking price if you stay here.
We recently stayed at the Hilton Los Angeles - Culver City (Dec 27-29) and it was the worst customer service experience I have had at a Hilton.
1. Freezing Room / Broken AC:
On our first night, the AC in Room 534 was broken. We froze all night. We reported it early the next morning, and they promised an engineer would fix it. When we returned in the afternoon, nothing had been done and no one had communicated with us. When we insisted, they finally admitted the AC was down on the entire floor and moved us.
2. Billing Issues / Broken Promises:
As an apology for the freezing room and poor handling of the situation, the manager offered a complimentary dinner for my wife. However, checking my final folio, they actually charged us for this dinner (approx. $51 USD). I messaged the hotel 3 days ago for a refund and have been completely ignored.
3. Rude Valet & Parking:
They only offer valet parking at a steep price of $50 USD per night. When we tried to handle our own luggage or pick up family in front of the hotel, the valet staff were incredibly rude and aggressive, refusing to let us load our own car.
Avoid this hotel if you value basic comfort and honest service.
