The main building is a beautiful old structure, with a few smaller buildings around the main which house many of the guest rooms. Great location in Coronado. Staff is very friendly and helpful. We would both happily stay here again, but I think I would spring for one of the upgraded rooms. Nothing wrong with the room we had, but I think the upgrade would have added to our experience. If you want a relaxing time in Coronado, I'd highly recommend the Glorietta Bay Inn!

The location is excellent, in a fantastic area of San Diego/ Coronado. From the outside, the property looks charming and inviting. The front desk staff were very kind and accommodating, which I truly appreciated. Unfortunately, the rooms need significant updates. The first room I was given on the ground floor was very outdated. The carpet looked dirty, there was a noticeable smell, and the overall feel of the room was extremely old. The layout had two separate sections and honestly felt eerie, which made me uncomfortable enough to immediately start looking into booking another hotel. I went back to the front desk and requested a room change. To their credit, they moved me to a second-floor room that was noticeably better. It still was not modern, but it was much more manageable. I stayed the night, explored Coronado, and then decided to book another hotel downtown the next morning. Overall, the location and staff are definite positives, but the rooms need real investment and renovation. The exterior gives a great first impression, but the interior does not reflect that same standard. With updates, this place could truly match its prime location.
