I found the sleeping arrangements to be terribly uncomfortable. I could not sleep through the nights on those beds. Everything else was rock solid

Smelly, terrible service, hung up on 3 times, someone was in given room. Originally asked for a 3rd floor, told there would be a wait and they would put us far from elevator on 2nd floor, then we get to the room it’s right next to the elevator, then they move us to a room that’s occupied, all the while I’m with my son carrying everything, and every time
I try to speak to them they keep hanging up the phone. Then as I’m leaving the front desk agent Jani is gossiping about me and my requests…super unprofessional. I never expected this from a Hilton.

Very basic continental breakfast, not included in the overpriced rooms, will cost you $20+/person. Was not clearly stated. Read the fine print, or better yet avoid altogether.

We booked two nights at the Hilton Garden Inn Calabasas via Expedia, just half a day before arrival. The booking was confirmed, visible in the app, and already paid. However, upon arrival, the hotel staff claimed they couldn’t find our reservation.
Instead of helping us, they were rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. We were told to “sort it out with Expedia” and were sent away — no attempt to assist, no empathy, no complimentary offer, despite us standing there after a long day of travel.
We ended up waiting in the lobby for over an hour with no progress or solution. One of the front desk agents made it seem as if we were at fault — repeatedly asking if we had booked under a different name or changed the reservation. Frankly, I think I know my own name.
When we asked if there were any available rooms, the same staff member — who had quite an attitude — claimed the hotel was fully booked. I checked online myself and found multiple available rooms at that very moment. Only after confronting them with that fact did they suddenly “find” a room, at supposedly the same rate. Later it turned out they were actually trying to charge €100 more.
Throughout this entire time, there was zero ownership or initiative from the staff. No one offered to call Expedia, verify the issue, or help in any way. Their entire approach was passive and unhelpful. To top it off, one of the front desk employees literally walked away from the conversation mid-problem to pet a guest’s dog.
We were so shocked by the lack of professionalism and basic hospitality that we rebooked another hotel via Expedia. Within four minutes, we were checked in elsewhere with no issues at all.
Hilton should seriously reconsider who they put at the front desk. Hospitality is about service and solutions — not attitude, and indifference. This experience was far below Hilton standards.
