Great location and new. The staff were nice and accommodating. Though, for being new, the room air conditioner wall thermostat didn’t work, so we had to use the settings on the unit. The room was very warm and the air conditioner would come on for a short time and then shut off. They also ran out of bed accommodations for kids.

Front desk staff were not welcoming at check-in, no eye contact, no greeting, not even "Will be right with you" despite 3 staff were staring at their computer. Ironically, I received a warm welcome via text but not in person. As a gold member, I had to ask for complimentary water. The room was just okay and not worth $260 plus 60,000 points a night. Breakfast had zero vegan options and parking was a hidden $40 fee (it apoears at the bottom of the amenities list as a parking surcharge). The gate is wide open when you arrive making it look like it's free for all:( Overall, very disappointing and unprofessional.
A perfect 5 star-rating is a red flag! Nothing is flawless especially in business. Imperfection is how we grow and improve (:

This hotel is more reasonably priced during off-peak seasons or weekdays, so I think it's worth considering if the timing works out. We arrived around 11 am, and when we checked in at the front desk, they thought we wanted to check in early and charged us over $100 USD for early check-in, so please be aware of that. The hotel rooms are spacious, with kitchens and bathrooms. Breakfast is served from 6 am to 9 am, so please be mindful of the time. There's also an indoor swimming pool and gym room. The hotel is only a 3-5 minute drive from the nearest ski resort, making it highly recommended for families planning to ski.

This is in my opinion the only place to stay in Big Bear. Its very clean, rooms are huge and surprisingly quiet, it’s family friendly, they have a great buffet breakfast, Smores at 5pm nightly and at 6:30 they have family movies. Its the best. We made the mistake of trying the chateau last trip. Wont do that again. It was so old and dirty..
