This hotel was an enigma. The location was very nice. The exterior was nice. The interior as you walk in and around was pleasant. However, our room was questionable. Let's start out with the negatives first. (picture provided) Yes that is what you think it is.....poo stained mattress on the pullout couch. Someone poo'ed the bed, and instead of cleaning it or replacing it housecleaning either missed it or someone else just flipped the mattress and called it a day. Not only disgusting but also a biohazard and health hazard.... gross. The furniture was in Ill-repair. (Photos) the business chair was missing its covering in the corner and the couch had a large stain on it which was flipped over to the other side...assuming to hide the stain. They did some kind of retrofitting of the pillars or work of some kind (photo provided) and never patched the work. The bathroom has wallpaper? Why? The humidity and moisture did what you think it would do....so the walls are pealing off, the metal door jam is rotting from rust. The beds were hard and uncomfortable. Now to the positives. The location was good. The actual Hotel is nice...it just needs more attention to the small stuff. The room was large and spacious. Other then the mishaps pictured and explained I would attempt another stay here hoping another room might be better kept. The breakfast was good and the front staff were very friendly and attentive.

We stood 4days 3nights, check in very late maybe 1am, when we asked for a hotel cart to bring our luggage up, we were told they couldn’t find any, at 1 am in the morning??? I struggled to understand this there was no one checking in the lobby at this hour, just us.
Very disappointed, pictures make it look better than what it’s. Looks like it may have once been a nice hotel, but who ever is running it, is not doing there job. Place looks very run down chipped paint everywhere making it look very tacky. Sofas in the entry lounge were very dirty, not very inviting to sit on. They have an Embassy sign as you walk in, looks like someone built it in their backyard. Elevators were also filthy inside and seemed they were in need of maintenance, they had a scary squeak.
My restroom tub looked as though it had not been scrubbed in a month. Thank goodness I brought my pool shoes. Gym and pool area had towels thrown everywhere, again looking very messy and dirty. We also had problems with the parking entry gate. Our card key failed to open the arm gate, we couldn’t get in 2 nights in a row and it was raining! When we asked to be reimbursed for our parking fee(yes they charge for parking) we were only comped 1 night.
Only good thing I have to say was they had a very good complementary breakfast, the cooks did an amazing job bus boys were on it, bussing tables.

**********No A/C*************
My wife and kids, and I checked in and went to our suite, it was rather muggy and thermostat said 72. We turned down the thermostat to 68, air kicked on, air felt warm.
Went down to the front desk and was informed that it's an old system that uses a hot pipe or cold pipe for air temp control, but only one can run through out the entire complex at once. So I was told, since it's "winter" here, being mid 60's during the day, they are only running hot water through the pipe and only warm air will come out of the vents in the rooms.
This is ridiculous.
I will give Ryan at the front desk credit, he did offer to refund our remaining nights if we chose to leave and go somewhere else. Unfortunately everywhere offering a 2 room suit was booked for the holidays within 30 miles of our location.
The other option we were given was to Crack the sliding door in the bedroom, where all night I could hear patrons talking outside, cars driving by, sirens, etc.
I have no idea how this place is booked. Unless this place updates their HVAC system, I would never stay here again.
Now if you like 72 to 74 degrees at night on the 4th floor, this is the place for you!

We have been staying here for about 4yrs at lease 2-3 times a year. Hot breakfast is amazing but they do need to change it up a bit, all rooms are spacious and have a sofa bed that really needs to be replaced because you can feel all the metal on the sofa mattress. The elevators on the north side are always out of service. Air conditioning is controlled by front desk or at lease that's what we were told, when we complained of our AC not working. They had someone come look at it and he claimed it was fixed, we left for dinner came back and our room was hot, called and asked to be moved to another room which they did but 2 nights after that we had same issue and thats when we were told they control the A.C. which is weird because this hasn't happened to us before.

Dear San Franciscan,
The only reason I chose this location was because it recently received a remodel. There are certain criteria that I would grade our stay experience.
Bed: wasn’t firm enough.
Water pressure: good, but old jet spray with extra calcium residue and a high pitch squeak for like first 10 seconds. Lol.
Air vents: you can tell it blows a dirty dusts. But we can’t really do anything… too tired to move.
Service: they have sent text messages to ensure that we gets everything we need, you interact with them it sounded like they care. When you genuinely ask them to set aside something because something was undelivered the night before to our room. Upon pick up, I still need to wait another 10 minutes for them to retrieve from housekeeping. They don’t have good record keeping of communication on guests request.
Breakfast: Standard American breakfast. Appreciate the made to order omelette. Server was on point.
Elevator: why so slow?
Spacious? For so Cal size, I think its decent.
Free welcome drink: I don’t drink so I can’t comment.
This is a good hotel with free breakfast. Parking was easy.
Nice neighborhood.
I hope Embassy Suites would consider cleaning the air vent’s and changing the shower head. I understand the bed is not their signatures point.
Overall, it’s a decent 3 days stay here.
