Although it was a short stay, it impressed. The studio unit was nicely appointed. It may have been recently renovated. The staff was very friendly and efficient. Guests are able to communicate their requests or questions via text, and responses are prompt. Location is about 7 miles outside of Sedona, on one of the major roads. There are fewer dining options close by, so you might need to travel15 minutes to find an eatery that suits your taste. Beautiful surroundings and a mecca for hikers. Less than 2-1/2 hours from Grand Canyon.

The room was clean (hence the 2 stars)....that was it. We booked a room with a view -- the view we got was of the pool. Not sure what the resort fees were for, because there is NOTHING about Bell Rock Inn that resembles a resort. We were told that because we booked a week, we were put in the "newly remodeled" unit. Hmmm....the ceiling tiles in the hallway were falling in at some parts, it took 20 minutes to get hot water in the shower -- regardless of the time of day, the thermostat broke and had to be fixed, the cable stopped working for 2 days (day 1 was due to lightening, day 2 was the cable box itself), the hallway smelled old, and the fridge froze our dozen eggs and yogurt, the bed was awful and we woke with backaches every morning. There is nothing redeeming about this place. We were roped into the 90-minute timeshare talk by Concierge as soon as we checked in and quite honestly with the promise of a $250 prepaid Mastercard (or visa ... it's all a blur at this point) we were too tired to care and figured, why not, it would pay for meals while we are here. Don't make the same mistake we did -- 90 minutes in an alternate reality that was over 2 hours of being browbeaten, insulted by the rep for continuing to say "No, now is not the right time for us to do this," and all the psychological and guilt hooks you could think of. The Coup de grâce was the rep's parting words to my husband and I of "To be perfectly honest, you're the fourth couple I've dealt with today, it's been a long 8-hour day and I'm burnt. I really don't care if you buy or not at this point" -- all the while, she's slamming her items into her purse, not looking at us, huffing and saying how "done" she is. Wait for it....it gets better -- her parting comment to us was "I hope for your sake at the end of your life you don't realize what a mistake you've made by not buying this while you had time..." Excuse me???? This was just a snippet of what was said to us because evidently, how dare we say no. It's a good thing we are clinicians because we had to flip into clinical mode to get out of there emotionally intact and put on our best clinical presence to stop the experience after more than 2 hours of this nonsense. Three days later were still chewing over what had happened and complained to the management who sent out an email about our experience. That was answered by some higher up who called us and apologized -- then said the rep would be written up. That's great; however, what about all the other things that we told them was wrong with the room? Again, I ask -- what exactly was the extra resort fee for??? We're Hilton Honors members and have traveled all over, and have stayed in many Hiltons before. Honestly, how we were treated during this trip and how unrestful this room and experience was made us say goodbye to Hilton. Room renter beware.

They are renovating and some how the place was still soooo quiet! We needed a few days of relaxing way more than normal and Bell Rock Inn nailed it. The rooms don’t look brand new, but they are clean and maintained. Beautiful views, located in the Oak Creek Village, most sights are within 5-20 drive away. The staff was so friendly and helpful. When we come back, this is were we will stay. ****Special note: we had to change rooms for our last night, so I can now say with some confidence that the beds are all EXTRA FIRM. If you cannot sleep on a very firm mattress this would be the only negative I found

We've been visiting Sedona for 26 years and just stayed at the Bell Rock Inn for the first time. It's possibly the best kept secret in the Sedona area. The location is excellent, the rooms are comfortable (and undergoing renovation), the staff is very accommodating, and the prices are quite reasonable. The full kitchen is a bonus, and easily makes up for the fact that that the hotel doesn't provide breakfast. It's a solid choice, and the views are spectacular.

The scenery around the property is absolutely beautiful — but that’s thanks to nature, not the “inn” itself. Unfortunately, that’s about where the positives end. They charge a resort fee, yet there are basically no resort amenities… unless you count a couple of hot tubs, I guess. No complimentary breakfast, nothing that justifies the extra cost. The water took 10–15 minutes just to get warm, and the bed was saggy and lumpy — definitely not the kind of sleep you’d expect for the price. They also hold a $200 security deposit, if you use a debit card, you don’t it get back for up to 10 days. On the bright side, the lady working in the morning was super sweet, and the room layout was actually pretty cool — those two things are what earned this place 2 stars instead of 1. Oh, and good news — they offer some kind of “membership timeshare” deal. Haha, I’ll pass.
