They have construction at one wing, and although there were plenty of vacancies when we stayed the guy put our room right near the construction instead of the opposite end where there were plenty of rooms. Cool. I think the guy was personally offended I booked through my credit cards travel app instead of directly and washed us to have a bad room to remember how upgrades and status work. The beds are a lumpy mess and typical Hilton sandpaper towels as well. But, Hilton is now finding any possible way to screw loyalty members. Book through your Capital One travel card, tour Amex Travel Card, or your corporate travel program and you won't earn points or stays on your Hilton "Honors" program - no status at all. The front desk guy was adamant about telling me I can't even get my Hilton Honors water now - the very water I count on for all stays. No refilling stations here either - in PHOENIX even. The whole point of these travel programs is we can stay anywhere we want so the loyalty draws us towards a particular brand - and all the other big players (Marriott, Sonesta, IHG, etc) have no problems attracting loyalty members because they still reward us. I'll do everything I can to avoid Hilton now including sell my vacation club membership and selling my shares, because there's no way a greedy corporation like Hilton who actively finds ways to screw loyalty customers will earn any more of my money.

The front desk explicitly told me I could park out front to drop off my bags. I did so and returned about 15 minutes later to find a $60 ticket on my car. I was then told I could appeal the ticket, as others supposedly had successfully done, but my appeal was denied. I was misled, and no accountability was taken for the incorrect guidance I was given.
