- AAAlex4 days ago3.0Just came from a smaller HIE an hour away that was actually up to date. This is lipstick on a pig. The hallways are casually being remodeled on every floor, the rooms are not well redone, and the mattresses are nothing to write home about. Staff is friendly, the convention center is neat, albeit confusing to navigate to a dorm hall. If the price is right, it's great that it's so close to the airport. But the rooms gave motel vibes. The internet appears faster in the lobby than the rooms. I had an access point in my room, so it was a matter of throttling, not distance. When I moved to the lobby, though, that was throttled after a few seconds of use. 20 Mbps or so.

We arrived around 2:30PM Saturday afternoon & were looking forward to a small nap, it had been an 8 hour drive but, the beds were not much softer than concrete. We attended the work event & came back to hotel around 9PM. Worn out was an understatement & we truly could not wait for a good night's sleep as we had to leave in the morning for the 8 hour trip home. We then got a closer look at the room & noticed "claw marks" on the "headboards", the "overlay blankets" smelled musty & the carpet was filthy (my fault & white socks). After a horrible night's "sleep", we woke up hurting & still exhausted only to find out the "hotel breakfast" was 12 dollars & the waffle house across the street ONLY delivered. My husband went to a gas station, got us coffee & we were on our way home.
- KBk barfieldOct 19, 20253.0The reason for 3 stars is it seems this hotel apparently uses a thermostat that you cant really set to a cool temp... The thermostats in the room are a joke. You can turn them down as low as you want, but, from what our experience was, the room isnt going to get cooler than a certain temp. They even sent maintenance to check it and from what i could tell all he did was turn the fan from on to auto which helped nothing. The upside to this hotel is the staff was friendly and there was plenty of hot water and water pressure. Breakfast was ok. Mainly biscuits, gravy, sausage or bacon, eggs, potatoes, and pancakes along with usuals such as oatmeal, pastries, fresh fruit etc..served buffet style. The onsite restaurant has pretty good food. We had dinner there a couple of nights and everything we had was good. Overall im not sure I would stay again due to a/c problems but the rest of the stay was pretty pleasant and rooms were clean with daily room service.
