Saturday 11/15/2025 - Event: Brandy & Monica concert. I missed a call about 11:15pm, I called back to confirm my reservation. When I arrived the door was locked and it took a few minutes fir the clerk to let me in. Check in was fast, my keys were waiting for me. Room 114 ground floor, was a good size with a barn door for the bathroom and closet. The problem was that the room smelled like cat urine. There were a few maintenance issues (the refrigerator, painters tape on the hall light, a spider and the loose faucet in the shower). The checkout clerk was great. I told her about the smell and spider and she addressed it quickly. If they get tge xat population under control this will be a good place.

Worst experience I’ve ever had at a hotel. I arrived late at night. I had a reservation weeks in advance. I show up and there is a “no vacancy” sign on the door and the door is turned off. I knock for 5 minutes. No answer. So I simply slide the door open as there’s no locking mechanism. I shout “hello” several times at the front desk towards the back and no answer. I finally heard some rumbling towards the breakfast line and go over there. The lady that’s working immediately asks if I can read the sign in the door and then starts accusing me of breaking in. Then continues to go back and forth about how I broke in and that I should have knocked. She then calls me a liar when I told her that I did. I will never stay here again and would encourage no one else to. I can’t believe someone in the hospitality industry would have the audacity to act this way towards a customer that is paying $170/night for a very sub-par hotel.

I’m typically not the one to leave a review (good or bad) but I will not be going back here. Shortly after getting settled my dog kept going behind the bed so we checked to see why & quickly realized why. (There were cigarette butts, ashes, food, & candy wrapper that seemed to have been there a while) I immediately called the front desk. I believe it was a guy- he was not apologetic at all. He just said you’ll have to wait till tomorrow- we don’t have a cleaning person here. I asked if he had another room available & he said “no”. Once again- not apologetic at all. I asked if he could also give us a heads up before someone came in our room only because we had all of our personal belongings in there but they did not. When we got back they’d already went in there. They never called us. I tried calling after we checked out today but couldn’t get through to anyone. It’s just sad we pay crazy prices for things like this. I do understand mistakes happen but that was just gross. We had to keep our dogs on the bed the entire 2 nights we were there. It was definitely a pain seeing we came to Birmingham for me to have a major surgery! Please do better.

The wonderful lady that checked us in, I believe her name was Sherelle (sorry if I spelled it wrong!😬), set the tone for the whole stay. She was very kind and we immediately felt welcomed! The room needed some work, but the staff was truly fantastic and I really appreciated that! Upgrade the rooms and this place will be amazing! To Sherelle, we were in town for a funeral and you really lifted our spirits! Thank you!
