I have not stayed personally but I am looking to book a trip. From. What i researched, location is good, newish hotel that has several restaurants and bars. Best price for hotel/ condo that I've seen.
When you compare hotel prices, be sure to add $30 to the Embassy suites for the mandatory valet parking. Also, they played loud music on the patio till 10 o’clock each night.

Our stay started with a valet worker yelling at us up upon arrival. I guess we pulled in the wrong way and it made the gentleman very upset. Be aware that if you do not use their valet parking, you must park in a sandlot across the street. Good luck, pulling your suitcases across the sand.
We checked into our room, which had a beautiful view and was pretty clean, but we had zero towels and no body wash. It took quite a bit of effort to get things sent to our room. We also ran out of toilet paper on multiple occasions because it was not restocked daily. The only outlet in the bathroom was half covered by the mirror, and did not work.
We had two small dogs with us for our stay that were crated when we were not in the room. We were not told they would refuse to clean our room for the entire state if we have pets. We requested service in our room each day, and we were not told until our final day that it was because we had pets that they didn’t want to go in there. I personally spoke with what was said to be a housekeeping manager, and was told they would go in there when I showed them the dogs in the crate. Communication amongst staff was almost nonexistent.
One of their big selling points is a luxurious heated pool on the second floor. We were shocked to find out on our pool day, that the pool in fact was not heated and was much colder than the gulf. It was not remedied during our stay.
Customer service was less than friendly, and for this being a new hotel, my family was quite disappointed. When we return to the area for our next vacation, we will be staying elsewhere.

Newly built in 2025; opened 3 months ago, this Embassy Suites will not disappoint. I’ve stayed at many Embassy Suites in different states and honestly, they don’t compare to this property. As you enter the front doors, your first reaction is “WOW!” Beautifully decorated with coastal themes and colors, this hotel is located across the beach, Starbucks (spacious seating area) is in the lobby for your caffeine fix, the bar is located in the middle of the lobby to enjoy adult beverages after a day at the beach, and the restaurant is located on the opposite end of the lobby. Our room (studio queen beds with balcony & ocean view) was awesome with an amazing view of the beach! We enjoyed a morning and evening stroll on the beach.
This hotel offers a free made-to-order breakfast every morning, unfortunately I left early and didn’t stay to try the free offer. Valet parking is $25/day; no self parking. Valet service is handled by a link sent to your phone upon arrival.
I’ve seen the reviews that talk about a daily resort fee that is charged when checking in. It is a bit pricey at $40 however, the resort fee covers a daily ticket for an umbrella & 2 beach chairs on the beach, 1-hour bike rental (up to 3 people), beach cooler with ice, s’mores kit, & 1 drink (per adult on reservation) at the bar between 5:30p-6:30p. Resort fees are usually charged at higher end resorts (i.e Hilton Hawaiian Village, Maui Four Seasons, etc) but I can see why this property charges a separate resort fee for the beach & hotel amenities it offers. To me, it’s still worth the total price if you want to be close to the beach. Definitely worth checking out for a stay at this brand new hotel in Gulf Shores, Alabama!!

*Editing to add: no one from the hotel reached out after emailing their customer service, but the corporate office said the “hotel management said we were happy with resolution while on property.” Complete lie and no management was ever involved nor did we tell any staff we were happy with their resolve of any kind. Kind of a gross customer service response.*
(Original post) I rarely leave negative reviews, but our recent stay at Embassy Suites Gulf Shores was so disappointing that I feel it’s important to share.
We booked this trip expecting a relaxing getaway, but it was anything but. On our second(out of three) nights, the air conditioner in our room made extremely loud, grinding noises all night, keeping us awake. When we reported it, no manager ever spoke with us, however a nice maintenance person brought us up keys to another room. We had to pack everything up and move the day before checkout, which was a huge hassle and really disrupted our stay.
There were broken items in the original room, and surprisingly, no in-room information about amenities or hours, which meant multiple trips to the front desk to get basic answers. And, you couldn’t get through to the front desk on the phone.
The food situation was also a problem. With a child who has a severe shellfish allergy, we were shocked that there were no safe kid-friendly side options. We had to leave the hotel and buy food elsewhere just to make sure our child could eat safely. When eating at restaurants off property, they all were happy and super helpful to accommodate. Almost every establishment has packaged items that are safe for allergies if you cannot provide a side for life threatening allergies. I was shocked that no one could provide a bag of chips, and they even had them in their little gift shop.
The evening reception was where things went from inconvenient to unacceptable. The bartender told me she’d have to charge for kids’ drinks and refused to make a simple Shirley Temple, saying she “didn’t have time” because of the line behind me. After checking with the front desk (who confirmed kids are indeed allowed a drink), a staff member walked us back to the bar and told her to make the drinks. She snarled at me in front of other guests. I have never experienced that kind of rudeness at a Hilton property.
On top of everything else, the hotel is extremely dog-friendly and not in a controlled way. There were dogs everywhere, even sitting on the lobby couches where guests relax. I have a severe dog allergy, and there appeared to be no clear rules or restrictions for guests with pets. This made being in common areas very uncomfortable. If you have dog allergies, this is something to seriously consider before booking. Had I known animals were allowed and would be in the lounge and on the couches, we absolutely would not have stayed here.
You also will need to double check any charges on your room. We prepaid in full including the resort fees, and these were clearly laid out on the receipt. They decided to charge us twice for these and I had to go to the front desk to get resolved.
Between the sleepless night, broken items, lack of communication, poor allergy accommodations, the unpleasant bar experience, and the uncontrolled dog presence, this stay was the opposite of what I’ve come to expect from Hilton. We left feeling more stressed than when we arrived.
I have photos and video documenting the issues and will be reaching out to Hilton corporate. I truly hope they address these concerns, because this property has great potential as it is beautiful and in an amazing location, but the guest experience, as it stands, is unacceptable.
