I travel frequently for work and have stayed in many hotels, but this property is easily one of the top five dirtiest rooms I’ve ever encountered. Hilton typically takes pride in clean hotels and quality customer service, but this location has neither.
The moment I walked into my room, I was hit with a strong mildew smell. The work desk was visibly dirty, and there were black hairs throughout the bathroom. Because every hotel in Fort Payne, AL was sold out, I had no choice but to stay. The room was so unpleasant that I went to a local Lowe’s and walked around until close just to avoid being in it.
This morning, having to get ready for work, I have never felt so unclean. There was black mold all over the shower curtain, pubic hair in the tub, and to top it off, the hair dryer left black residue all over my hand when I tried to use it.
I did speak with the front desk, but all they offered was, “Sorry sir, we are full, but I can have someone spray air freshener in the room.” Air freshener doesn’t fix a lack of basic cleanliness.
I found a local breakfast spot (The Spot Coffee Shop) that opened early so I could sit there for two hours before my meeting instead of staying in my room.
I’m a big review person, and I would strongly discourage anyone from staying at this facility. Hilton absolutely needs to investigate the conditions of this property. For reference, there is a very nice hotel next door—but it was sold out as well.

The hotel is fine nothing special. No gym to speak of just a couple treadmills stuck in a alcove. Breakfast was fine but not many options. The price was about the same as other hotels.

The room was clean and bed comfortable up to Hampton quality the breakfast area however at 8 in the morning had no food and the muffins they did have out clearly came right out of the freezer all the chairs at the tables in the breakfast area had spots all over the seat. They were so disgusting who wants to sit on that all they have to do is use a little upholstery cleaner.. I stayed at a lot of Hampton Inn and for $160 a night I expected the lobby to look clean that is the customer’s first impression
