I am not typically one to leave bad reviews but this absolutely needs to be addressed. As it is a safety concern. We were met with rudeness and zero help with a situation that made us extremely uncomfortable. Our room had an adjoining door that does NOT lock. Also, the room on the opposite side of the adjoining door was being extremely loud and using foul language. We were uncomfortable with the door and loud neighbors combined. We called down to the front desk to ask if we could switch rooms. We were told to wait a moment and they said they would call us back. They IMMEDIATELY called the room that was being loud. As we could hear the phone ringing. Which in my opinion put us in an extremely dangerous situation as they could open their door and just push our adjoining door open. I went down to the front desk to ask if we could move our room once more. I was met with attitude and they told me they were going to make the other people move. I went back upstairs and they called the other room once more. They started hitting the walls and what sounded like jiggling the lock. Again making us extremely uncomfortable. Another member of the room went to the front desk to ask if we could please move. She was met with attitude and dismissiveness. They told her that the other people were supposed to be gathering their things and moving. This did not happen. We waited nearly an hour before we decided to leave. Within that hour they were still being extremely loud and banging around. When we left we were very polite and turned in our keys. We also contacted Hilton customer service multiple times in which every time they said they were contacting a supervisor and the call would be dropped. We were instructed by one customer service representative to go to the Redmont (Hilton). Where the call was once again dropped. Thank goodness for your employee Keilon. As he heard our situation and was able to get us a room at the Redmont. He also contacted the Hilton Garden inn and they tried to say none of this ever happened. They also told him they tried to upgrade us to a diamond and room. Which also absolutely did NOT happen. We were denied a room change every time. They also said they could not refund me. Which is extremely upsetting. I would like to add that I am pregnant and was put under extreme stress. I also had two ladies with me who are under the age of 25. We were in the middle of Birmingham with nowhere to go. Which is dangerous in and of itself in my opinion.

Stayed Nov 5 to 7, Room 209. Around 3:30 a.m. on Nov 7 I woke up with bed bug bites, checked the bed, and found a live bed bug. I have video of it in the bed and then in a bottle, plus photos of my bites. I am five months pregnant and had swollen lymph nodes with hot itchy areas, so I checked out immediately. I left my pregnancy pillow to avoid bringing anything home and now have to trash or treat luggage and clothes. I reported this to the hotel and also filed with the Alabama Department of Public Health. As of today I have not received a response. Posting to warn other travelers and to encourage management to address this quickly. Photos attached. *Someone did reach out but the review stays because there were other reviews of bed bugs and obviously they still have them.

The bathroom was disgusting. Corners had hair buildup. Poor cleaning. I felt like I needed to decontamination when we left..
