The weather was very cold the day we went, but Salmon Berry lent us boots and snow pants which kept us warm. The tour also provided hand warmers, helmets, crampons, and walking poles to keep us safe. The tour was epic and awesome as advertised. It was not our first visit to a glacier, but the first time in winter, providing a different perspective. Exploring the glacier, crevasses, and an ice cave made the adventure quite memorable. It was topped off with a delicious lunch at the Long Rifle Lounge with a view of glacier. The drive back to Anchorage treated us to sunset views and moose. One of the best tours we have ever had in Alaska (and we have been several times).

- PMPaul MondayDec 30, 20255.0We went on the Salmon Berry Sled Dog tour last Sunday, Bill was our guide, we had a fantastic time. Bill caught us up on Iditarod and dog sledding knowledge on the ride out to the Seavey’s ranch. We had an amazing lunch at a local brewery on the way and a stop at Millers for coffee. The handlers / mushers were super cool answering all of our questions and taking us on the sleds. A super energetic group of puppies had to be played with and we learned more about the Iditarod before we hopped back in the van and made our way back. Bill gave us some ideas for dinners and places to do some snowshoeing along the way. We appreciated the offices, enough stops to break up the trip and even a short side quest to view Denali since we were running early!!! Highly recommend Salmon Berry while you’re in Alaska!

From walking us through the process, to helping us decide which events were important to us, they customized our trip to check all the boxes on our bucket list. Our tour guide Harrison was knowledgeable without being a know it all. His banter not only helped expand our understanding of Alaska, but helped pass the time on some of the longer trips out. He is an expert photographer whose help was immeasurable in capturing our Alaska adventure. The cold weather gear rental was a life saver and extremely useful in the days after the tour when we stayed in Fairbanks for additional days. We did a lot of research online, checking prices and packages, and Salmon Berry was by far the best deal for trip. I would highly recommend them to any who ask. (In fact I have already started bending my brother-in-laws ear to consider this trip).
