Update: The manager contacted me and apologized for the room issues, offered a future upgrade and corrected the billing. The service was appreciated.
The room was okay, but the bed was not comfortable and made a lot of noise. It smells like glue or paint due to their "upgrades" which was only livingroom furniture and wall coverings. (We know as stayed in a non-upgraded room in October and frankly, it was nicer and more comfortable).
They quoted us $192.40 per night, including their breakfast for a king suite when we booked, which should have been around $410 all in.
They then charged over $200/night plus a ton of additional fees, in total almost $470 dollars. When asked why, they claimed we booked a double Queen suite and took an upgrade offer for which we were charged, which is patently untrue. We don't appreciate being "up-sold" without our knowledge or permission.
I would encourage people to double check their bills and make sure what you asked for is what they booked for you.
We won't be back.

Wube a server in the hotel restaurant for breakfast is amazing. She was the most friendly server I’ve ever had. She would have my tea ready before I sat down and helped me order the most amazing omelet. My 5 star ratings are 100% because of Wube. She made my first visit to Edmonton a delight. I’d for sure go back to this hotel just because of her. My only complaint is the carpets in the hotel need to be replaced. Other than that, great experience.

A few years ago I stayed in this hotel and found the room to be very modern and new. This time I made sure to pay extra to book a suite, thinking I will get an even better place for our stay. Although I had paid more than just a regulat queen bed, they sent us to their old building. Curtains in this suite are clearly from 40 years ago, all sofas are decades old, and all they have done is renovating the bathroom. I am pretty sure this building has been a rundown motel next to their property that they have bought and added to the original building. I also made sure to pay for our breakfast and book as "breakfast included" when I booked. However they still charged us for the breakfast on the first morning in the dining area saying there is no record of included breakfast on our room number. I had to go talk to the front desk and show them my reservation receipt to resolve the issue.
Long story short, I do not recommend anyone staying here. For sure last time for me.
