- GGGMJul 18, 20251.0I went into the Verizon store to get a quote for switching from T-Mobile. I was adding 2 new lines and trading in a phone that was supposed to get me $1,000 in credit. I was also getting one free phone and insurance on the devices. I specifically asked to be quoted with taxes included, and was told my total monthly bill would be around $149. They mentioned my bill might be higher for the first couple of months but would even out. It’s now been four months, and my bill is still $200—$50 more than what I was told. When I went back to the store to talk about it, I was asked if I had proof of what I was quoted. I was told they “keep the paperwork,” but when I asked them for proof of what they told me, they didn’t like that. They also said I could save $30 with Auto Pay, and I told them I already was enrolled—but they said it has to be from a bank account, not a card. That was never explained to me upfront. I was also told that Verizon trains their reps to quote prices with Auto Pay already factored in, which was never mentioned when I asked for the full price including taxes. Bottom line: If you go into this store, get everything in writing and consider recording the conversation. What they tell you in person and what actually happens may be two very different things.
